Or this, as Kirk and Spock announce they are transferring to the Starfleet Academy: James T Kirk - well-rounded point guard. Decent-but-not-great-outside shooter who will not shy away from taking the big shot. Willing to drive the ball to the basket, occasionally out of control but involves teammates well. Mr. Spock - Low-key but hard-working and intelligent power forward. Outstanding rebounder through effort and positioning with occasional use of Vulcan nerve pinch. Level-headed player who never gets too high or too low. Not a dynamic offensive player but gets his share of points through steady effort inside and efficient outside shot when left open. Jim Kirk-Hot head prone to risky passes. Speaking of passes, scouting says overly obsessed with opposing cheerleaders. Spock-Lacks emotion and overthinks too many plays. Typically pessimistic about teams' chances and argues with team doctor constantly.

4 butler dudes hit the portal. Wonder if we have a shot at any. I’m not sure how this compares to other years for Butler in the portal/NIL era. It was a poor choice by Collier to stretch the “Butler Family” hiring scheme. He may have doubled-down his failure by turning to Motta. Do they even have folks we can use or want?

since they finished at 124 and us at 164, I would say they had players who could help us. whether or not these are the players available, i have no idea.

At this moment, do we have even 1 scholarship available ?? How can we be worrying about what guys are in the portal ?? You surely understand how this works now. There are conversations that must be had with current players about their future with the program or lack thereof. I would also guess we have several guys who will have a degree by May or perhaps already did in December. That is the way of the world in college Athletics.

We're never gonna get either of those guys. They will freak out when we tell them they have to wear red shirts.

Spock - Kevin McHale’s doppelgänger …. NIL - Let’s offer Cooper Science, the Chug, Student Center barber, and Waffle House. He’s ours. Kirk … don’t know.

Some possibilities for us recently entering the portal: Raw forward with a frame to put on muscle. Willing worker who will benefit from a disciplined program with strong leadership. dominant athlete who flies on the break and skies for rebounds. Injury issues appear to be in the past. Strong but somewhat erratic power forward who is capable of dominating underneath but occasionally shoots at the wrong basket. Slim but energetic small forward with dynamite first step Scores with regularity from all levels. Intimidating presence that makes the game look easy. Powerful and reliable inside force and team-oriented player. Rock solid but sometimes overshadowed by teammates.

I liked this kid coming out of high school. Strong, physical and athletic combo guard. He can get to the rim but is not a great perimeter shooter. He has a high ceiling and has the potential to be an all MAC guard. I would take him. Ft. Wayne kid so maybe he would like the idea being close to home.

Illinois Central, 8th edition, er year grad transfer. Portal. Never quits, prone to foul out, slasher who always finds back door open.
