Point guard, power forward combo from Canada. Will watch his brother’s kids but will not, under any circumstances, allow you to enjoy one of Lewis’ cold ones if you don’t have a ticket.

Odd that we have 17 mutual followers but many are on the football side of tgings. Bill Comar is following him but thats it on b ball side. We had originally offered the speed of this and current interest point at us or purdue-ft wayne but who knows.... Im guessing he is going to Valpo but what do I know

Reggie Bass has been to more schools than Dennis the Menace. I’d both take him and avoid him like the plague. Seems like all the places he has been Barbee has been the only one who was able to harness his talent and guide it in the right direction. Maybe it was the desolateness of Mt Pleasant and the seperation between him and voices in his ear. It is a shame he is looking for greener pastures as this is the best situation he has been in over the entirety of his career.

Those same "voices" drove him away from Muncie Central too. His resume indicates that he listens to too many "voices."

At this moment, do we have even 1 scholarship available ?? How can we be worrying about what guys are in the portal ?? You surely understand how this works now. There are conversations that must be had with current players about their future with the program or lack thereof. I would also guess we have several guys who will have a degree by May or perhaps already did in December. That is the way of the world in college Athletics. Duh, yes, I understand that, but none of that has happened at this point and until it does we can really only be in the "interest" stage. Not saying it wouldn't force the issue with some guys, but to this point it hasn't, at least that we're aware of.

I also tried to call in some favors and get access to the portal. I talked too a former NCAA coach and was going to see if I could use her log in info and she said that Portal access was the first thing that disappeared when she quit her position. The Schools AD must fill out a form for each coach requesting access and then must immediately report if a coach moves on. So no way a common shmuck can get in.

The portal is active and WE must be active not just interested. The smart programs have already likely scouted kids as targets and are ready to pounce. Worst case scenario is you get NIL $$ to pay a kid if you don't already have an open Schollie and then figure it out. This is no time to wring our hands and wait for hard conversations with existing players before we make offers. Fortune favors the bold and Lewis is bold.

Wait and you lose out should there be a player who’d be interested. If I had to guess I’d say Lewis is having some hard conversations with a couple of guys now that we’re done playing. We are already contacting guys in the portal. It’s today’s reality.

Would love to see us land 6'8", 270 lb. Sydney Curry of Louisville. Might only have one year left unless there's he's got an extra Covid year available. He played at Ft. Wayne Northrup in H.S. so maybe he'd like to get closer to home. He had a disappointing year this past year under first year coach Kenny Payne. Had a very good 21-22 season.
