Do you have a better chance of making the NBA being a backup player at a high D1 university, or a stud at a mid major university? Asking for a friend… Sparks can play after college, but not have NBA chances without a lot of development. Has to be able to play out on the floor more, defend quicker players. I don't expect that...

He can have a long over seas career. long way to go to even think about NBA I'm not so sure he can play overseas. He definitely can't play in the NBA or developmental league. Most overseas leagues are finesse with a lot of up and down and three pointers. His game just isn't suited great for the next levels. Perhaps he can find a more physical foreign league that suits his style.

Iu picked up a 7 foot former 5 star McDonald’s aa transfer from Oregon today. He’ll be a sophomore. Sparks has been reduced to 15 minutes per game, maybe less if Woodson doesn’t want to play Ware & Sparks together. Most of the articles I've read about Sparks from IU's perspective has listed and described Sparks as a PF. I suspect the desire is to play Ware with either Malik Reneau (6' 9", 235 lb.) or Sparks (6' 9" 240 lbs.) at PF. The question then becomes can Sparks actually play PF and can he beat out Reneau.

Maybe the dream now has been reduced to 20 min. or pre-game warmup in those candy striped warmups that he may never take off during a game. Hopefully he can develop into a real force for IU.

Honestly, I doubt Ware does much for iu. Not right away at least. He’ll get bullied in the big 10. Soft and not aggressive. No motor. Sparks will be more productive unless Ware wakes up.

It's been a minute since we've talked about Sparks. How many more big men has IU now signed since Sparks committed?

They may sign a McDonalds 6-8 All American transfer. I think there were two other big men signed. Sparks may play but not much

Sparks may play but not much 6’9” transfer Walker averaged only 2 points & 1 rebound for Miami U. last year as a 4th year senior. It’s highly unlikely he’ll be taking minutes from anybody. Looks like a pure depth signing.

Man, I just don’t see Spark’s PT for IU getting better now that they signed the guy, Mgbako, that had a commitment to Duke but reopened and picked IU. This guy is a top 10 recruit and that now means Sparks is competing for minutes with three top-level recruits, the guy from Oregon, Kel’el Ware, and one of the top recruits from last year, Malik Reneau and now this guy Mgbako. Maybe he'll surprise us but it's looking like a pretty steep hill to climb for him right now.

Mgbako apparently sees himself as a 6-8 wing player, as do so many of these highly touted players.
Woodson will still need someone to do the dirty work. I don't know how much Sparks will play but I would guess he will eagerly do the dirty work.
