I think everyone expected this to happen. Just would've been nice to have made the move in, ohh say April.
But par for the course. The guy always puts himself first above the team. Don't let the door hit you in the ass.

Once a head case always a head case. He will get some offers because he's talented and all coaches are desperate save for a few elite programs, but seriously, how often do three time transfers equate to being a good teammate even in today's "see ya later" world? Our entire starting five from last November/December is now gone. Jacobs, Sellers, Bumb, Boogie and Sparks. Mickey Pearson and Jihad are your returning "core".  |

Here's the official quote from Lewis.  "I believe that Ball State University has gone above and beyond to provide a foundation of success for Boogie's future, including graduation. Although we are disappointed in the timing of this decision, we will always support graduating our student-athletes regardless of risk due to current NCAA rules regarding transfer eligibility and other external influences. We are thankful for Boogie's contributions to our program and wish him nothing but success in his future."

I will admit that, at this moment, I can't even remember the names of any of the transfers or freshmen coming in. However, I recollect that when I looked at their college production, or (in the case of freshmen) their other offers, they generally did not impress me as being as good as the players we are losing. Remember that it was said repeatedly by multiple members here that Lewis did not inherit a roster capable of contending for a MAC title. So it logically follows that Lewis needed to UPGRADE the talent level with his recruiting. It looks more like he has done the opposite. This is bad. Very, very bad. |
