Indiana State offense is terrible but our defense has been good outside of a blown play on their TD. It wasn’t always pretty but we will get the win, so I won’t complain too much.

Out. Injured. Had a cast on his arm. He has looked like our best receiver, so it is not surprising the passing game was a little underwhelming. Hopefully Hunt and Robinson are back next week. That would make a big difference.

Neu said Robinson will be out at least a few weeks, but he was optimistic Hunt will be back.

I hate the slow draw run plays. It killed our drive inside the 10. The quick hitters seem to always work better. Man, those were great plays. It was like, "Hey, ISU we know you're having a hard time getting ahold of Marquez, so we're just going to hold him up back in the backfield for a second or two to give you guys a chance. You can thank us later."

Interesting observation from the last couple of weeks watching TV college football: Announcers used to call out players (who just made a play) by their name and maybe that they were a red shirt fr, so, etc. Now they use the player’s name and where they transferred from.

I'm still all-in on Semonza, at least as compared to our apparent options. Remember he's stuck with coaches that are kinda stuck in the mud in terms of play calling ability. He made the one mistake with the fumble but he also saved a couple of plays with his legs and his ability to make throws under duress. He actually shows the ability to work through progressions, which I'm not sure any of our other QBs do. He should only get better but the competition will also.
I am clueless as to what our coaches are trying to do with Kelly. It's like they're writing a book titled "100 ways to make a dynamic player just another guy."

In what sport and what year? I thought I heard that somewhere but clearly, after looking it up, that wasn’t true 😂

This game felt to me like our first two games with the roles reversed. The big underdog who is clearly playing out of their league plays tough for a while and keeps it close longer than expected, but the flood gates opened and it turns into a blowout. While the play calling wasn't especially adventurous, I will say that I missed on a few predictions what we were going to run next, which I feel like I'm normally extremely accurate predicting our plays.
I didn't notice much of a change in the gameday experience. I usually sit on the general admission side and they wouldn't let us walk around the paved path where the fancy colonnade is. They made us walk through the grass, which was crowded so we had to weave around people already in their spots. I saw tents and things set up facing into the grass, but I'm not sure why make people walk on a graded grass surface where people are sitting where there is a paved walkway right there made for that purpose.
Not sure why we still saw three QB's. Seems like Hatcher is clearly out of the mix at this point. Last year we were all begging to see Kelly even just a peek, and got nothing. Now we're sticking with a 3 QB rotation. Semonza seems like the correct call at #1. He is playing well with the highest upside for the system we run. I like still seeing Kelly and really want the kid to succeed here. But I feel like the coaches don't want to play Kelly but don't want him to transfer, and they're trying to walk that tightrope. There is just so much to be said for a QB that can turn any play into a big gain. Aside from the fumble Semonza impressed me with his legs.
Big props to the ISU fans. They showed out in big numbers.

Cards shine second half drilling ISU 45-7. That number 45 has been the is the winning score in all three games but this time the Cardinals were winners.
