Its not like we should be shocked go back and look at pre season polls we did. Most of us had 3-6. Its looking like maybe 3 if were lucky. What is shocking is how inept we have looked. Its only one MAC game but we are not beating anyone playing like that. Mike also has a power that even when shits at its darkest the majority of the players and parents stand firmly behind him Yep. Optimistically we expected to win one more at this point. But that was probably at best a toss up. You're on point about looking bad being the thing. It's a plus he can keep players and parents in the fold, and to be positive about the outlook, and maybe that positive will happen, but oh the pain of watching us fall apart in the now... doesn't feel like that is happening. I have to argue with people who just won't see the long term problem that we're not going to solve this with a quick change. They just want it better now and it ain't likely to happen.

Its only one MAC game but we are not beating anyone playing like that. Mike also has a power that even when shits at its darkest the majority of the players and parents stand firmly behind him Mike needs to surround himself with good competent people. To date, he hasn't done that. Not enough of them. But that was the biggest drawback to his hire. No cheap but good staff to bring in with him, and no bankroll to go get people he wanted. It's not like he's an idiot. He can't magically wish for great coaches to join his staff, not then, not this week. The other longstanding gripe here where most of us agree is that while we might be OK with conservative FB when it works, that requires very good execution, and maybe better talent. But more the former. And we are not getting it done. Blame a lot of things, but some quick change is more complicated than just throwing out what isn't working.

At this point my interest in Ball State football is at its lowest level in my 50+ years of following the Cardinals. Will I watch this Saturday’’s game, probably - I’m a Ball State fan and a glutton for punishment! Will I go to another game this year? Possibly the Toledo game . Why, because we have a tendency to beat Toledo when we are down and out. This could well be my last game of the year I waste my time driving to Muncie this year.

In some ways better than a suite. I used to be all about the game. Edge of the seat. Didn't understand sitting in the parking lot. I am now doing that and not seeing as much football but getting to spend that time with friends, kids and grandkids and friends of kids and grandkids as well as assorted students, colleagues and other ne'er do wells for a few hours before the game. And some of the hours of the game. Seating is more comfortable, food and drink convenient, and time passes much better if you don't see every miscue...besides, if things go well like ISU it's a bit boring to watch. So I record game in case I actually miss something or want to relive it.

When the weather's bad, it better be a good game...for the last few years, I don't even hate to say it, no November night game, no rainy Saturday, unless the stadium is full and it means something.
Fair weather fan, I guess. Literally.

You guys had damn well better go to the games. The students are paying out $10 million a year to cover the deficit on your pastime that nobody else cares about.

At this ticket price we're not coming close, but then we're not getting all the educational benefit or other perks of student life. We do give money to BSU, too, I just got an email saying how much we're doing for the cause. All I want is for all those slackard students to walk through the Shoe on the way from the tailgate back to campus. Saves the AD from buying tickets to come to 15K attendance for the privilege of staying in the MAC. Plus, we're old. It's a long way for us to get from parking we pay for to the seat... C'mon Sherm. We've been at this for a while. Doing all that hard work of suffering through games for decades should cut us some slack.

Maybe because there is a grain of truth in what you say. It’s sort of like a comment that a Georgia commentator made about the MAC during the Ball State game when he noted how these players will go back home and play in font of less than 10,000 fans. It was said in a manner like, it really isn’t college football!

You guys had damn well better go to the games. The students are paying out $10 million a year to cover the deficit on your pastime that nobody else cares about. Understood. But $90-100/home-game (per student) for a little fun and lifetime memories, across an $80K education …. I’d think that’s worth it.

Wished he had not said that. Truth hurts. He could have said that MAC football has many in the pros.
