No idea
I hoped we'd know more now.
1. I can't see the red shirt giving us 4 full years.
2. Hatcher about what expected, better maybe last game, but not able to carry the team.
3. Kelly, not enough to tell, passing disappointing in limited sample size.
Without receivers all going, and spotty OL play, you can't see any particular chemistry plus for any.

I went with Kelly. Got to change it up.

At this point, why not give Kelly a real shot? We’re going nowhere anyway.

Kelly is bouncing after the seasons over. His family has been very critical of Neu on social media lately…

I think most mid majors seem more effective with option QBs. I was hoping Kelly could be that “guy”, but 1. He seems very indecisive when selecting when/where to run 2. No way we would be able to design an offense for this strategery

No way we would be able to design an offense for this strategery He’s indecisive because as near as I can tell, a: we’re asking him to rpo out of a traditional pro set designed for a drop pocket passer; b: the oline doesn’t create holes plus is schemed for a between the tackles runner out of a traditional pro set; c. He doesn’t get enough opportunities to make a read/find a rhythm and get comfortable.

Aren't we then back to being at least a two QB situation?

Aren't we then back to being at least a two QB situation? Honestly, I'm not sure why we recruited him given his skillset. He doesn't fit anything Neu has tried to do since he took over. We've been a pocket passer pro style offense that had QBs running very occasionally if they were capable. (Plitt ran a few times, but overall not necessarily mobile) If they thought Kelly was a pocket passer only they were incredibly mistaken. The young man was highly recruited. He's talented along the lines of Finn at Toledo. Finn wasn't a great passer early on but has become more effective with experience. What he has been from the start of his career is a play maker and the UT offense runs pretty damn well with him at QB and plays are designed around him. And yet, UT can use their pro style backup QB effectively. Why have we not been able to develop Kelly the same way UT has developed Finn? Personally I think it comes down to stubbornness of Neu refusing to adapt the offense to a player like Kelly. Neu would much rather put Paddock clones out there because he thinks they can throw from the pocket and hand the ball off real good. We can't really know if Kelly can be an effective QB or not because he's not out there long enough. We might never know.

Personally....We can't really know if Kelly can be an effective QB or not because he's not out there long enough. We might never know. That's almost exactly what I've thought. Not so much Neu just being stubborn, maybe, more just a true believer in his system, and painfully aware of players and staff being limited in handling any dual style offense. They're not that good at ONE offense... The freshman and Hatcher much better fit. It's possible he imagined things going better for Kelly or convincing him to be a wing back, or WR. Very good athlete. And after all, not having the other 2, he would be getting most of the snaps?

Here's my concern, with or without Neu, I could see us having none of these three guys next year.

If Semonza is as good as we think he won't be here 4 years so I'm not concerned about burning the red shirt.
The question is can the season be salvaged and who gives us the best chance to win now if it can be. I think it's Hatcher.
If the season is not salvageable play Semonza. To me the Kelly thing is a distraction at this point. Let him go if he wants. I'm done with this mess.
