Does the StarPress even gave a sports section. I looked online this morning and there was an article about Haraugh, but nothing else, not even high school sports.

Yes, the StarPress coverage is next to nothing, but looking at the big picture, would you rather be existing back in the time where the newspaper was pretty much your only source, or now when you can instantly access the press conferences, stats, comprehensive analytic national rankings, stats & evaluations & news & highlights video on potential recruits and transfers, rumors scuttlebutt, wiener jokes and hilariously bad takes from this site, cult-like Facebook pages on local athletes, etc. etc.? All true. Except. The guy actually employed to cover events might be more responsible, have more access to the team and maybe more incentive to be accurate. He's being paid to dig out the things that aren't as public and doing so furthers his career. I'm not underestimating the crazed enthusiasm we all have as fans, or anti-fans, as it may be, just saying maybe that's more incentive than the amusement, the fame and other personal satisfaction we get publishing on this site.
Maybe?
If you worship the establishment and the conventional wisdom with a religious fervor like some people we know, you probably do remember the old days with fondness...when we had little access to information on the program beyond Doug Zaleski just re-writing BSU press releases, thus never jeopardizing his access to his BSU sources.

I am less trusting of social media maybe, but quality of the press is pretty low I admit.

I reached out to cancel my subscription this week and they offered to drop my price to $4.99 a month…I told them there needs to be Ball State coverage and she said my concern would be passed on.

I did the same, but got a even better deal; 6 months free, followed by 6 months at $4.99 per month (half what I was paying). I really intended to drop before the phone call, but decided to give them another 12 months to see if they improved. They also pointed out my Star Press subscription got me all the paywalled articles on USAToday, which I didn't realize.
