Equity sports also represents Patrick Mahomes and slews of other NFL players. This is a step in marketing him before he enters draft next year. Its hard to for us to understand the depths of what NIL has became and bad its brutally fnng us Just saw an NCAA proposal allowing "trusts" up to $30K for college to pay athletes directly for the resource rich" programs. That's in addition to NIL. I.e., its the chance for many of the P5 to essentially create their own big money division and push schools like ours even further down. There will come a day where there's a "haves" division and a "have nots" division. I'm not even sure we can compete with the have nots. Will there be a "have even less than not" group? We could be in that one. At any rate, NIL has gone WAY beyond what it was intended because the NCAA failed (were afraid to) put any kind of guardrails on it. Oh well. And what is the real reason to have an “NCAA” at this point? Maybe they can create classes for student-athletes on off-shore banking and shell corporations?

The NCAA is afraid to do anything that will upset the P5 (or now P4). The SEC & BT should simply pull into their own division taking FSU,ND & Clemson. Maybe UNC to if they want to play with the big guys in FB. The rest of the Bowl schools can not win a national championship in FB as things are today.

Title IX rules would still apply, which means at least half of the athletes receiving the $30,000 a year would need to be women, or men who claim to be women.
Those opting in to the new subdivision would not be limited to $30,000 per year; that figure would simply be the starting point.

Be a mess and there will be anti trust lawsuits and what not.

We have some good young OL kids who are good. Let’s let them loose. And, add in a transfer or two. What I hate to see, with Stewart, is that the grass may not be greener (long term). Maybe short term, with the crap coming out recently. But, if he wants to make real cash, it’s all about performing, getting an opportunity in the NFL, and running with that. Like Jason Kelce. I think he walked on at Cincinnati - look what he’s done for himself.

NIL is the ultimate statement about the ME generation. No loyalty to anything except self. For those who stay committed to those who had confidence in their ability, I say thanks, you are a wonderful person. Otherwise, my love of sports is slowly slipping away. I used to love going to Pacer and Colts games, today I don’t even watch professional sports on tv - I found found my days to be better. If this is the direction of college sports, I will either start watching the Ivy League of follow Indiana Wesleyan, Franklin, or Wabash College, places where young men are playing for the fun of the game. Just don’t need or want the drama. Except for the love of the school and time when I went to Ball State, all loyalty for Ball State will be gone.

This is not the players fault, exactly. Or their greed or entitlement or loyalty.
It made sense to allow transfers more easily and to give players some rights to NIL. But the way the NCAA decided to go and how the NIL rights developed is a mess.
The big money in P5/4 money sports created a need to do something. Things just can't be the same.
In BB the tournament money seemed to work pretty well. In FB...no mechanism to share wealth in any way and not much economic leverage for G5.
You may be on to something to dumb down most college FB to something more like D3. Maybe also rules change to eliminate so much specialization which requires CFB to mirror the pros and need so much coaching. More like 1950s CFB.
Let P4 go it's own way. If they want G5 feeder system, let them pay for it.
