I get the insurance/injury/liability argument. Not sure why it matters that most of the best gymnasts peak at a young age. In what sport do we pretend that college athletes are at the peak of their athletic prowess? Certainly not football ... or basketball ... or baseball ... or any other sport I can think of It matters because of the cost, especially relative to its usefulness and relevancy. No one cares. No one goes. The sports you mentioned feature growing and developing athletes, while women's college gymnastics features athletes very much on the decline and just waiting for the career ending injury. It's a pointless collegiate sport.

It matters because the gymnasts are competing on the BSU team, using BSU facilities, being trained by BSU staff. The liability for injury falls on BSU. Whether they peak in their teens is beside the issue because there exists a BSU gymnastics team with members. I do not know if certain sports require an additional insurance rider, but high schools and colleges have dropped the sport over the 30 years due to liability issues. Right. So age being brought up as an issue is really no issue at all. Got it. No, age very much so matters. It's generally not a sport for that age group. Their bodies are done by that point. It's pointless to have college gymnastics aside from Title IX, which is the only reason BSU has it (thank you, football).

I see that Pemberton is staying put at Ball State. Any word on the following... - Phil Gunn
- Norman Massey
- Brody Glenn
Also saw that Vinatieri ended up at Louisville.

Tough injury today to transfer OLB Justin Thomas, the transfer from U of Indianapolis- likely broken leg in Tuesday’s practice.
