Heck was let go? If so the ONLY reason that even remotely makes sense is that’s to open that spot up for lynch, who was rb coach previously. If they in-fact did this and it was just for Kev, well I don’t like it.
Mike is loyal to the point it bites him in the ass, and yes we do lose players who’d be good for us because they don’t get opportunities or they are played like yo-yos.

Wonder what Hatcher’s impressions of Neu would be?

Wonder what Hatcher’s impressions of Neu would be? Layne's or Daddy's?

And more than anything else Neu has done that tells me all I need to know about how the program really operates-and why we can't and won't succeed. I don't know Heck but if he was fired to make room for Lynch, then that is reprehensible. Plain and simple. You fire one guy who did his job well to make room for another guy who didn't? Somebody make that make sense for me.

To be fair, Carson Steele and Cooper were going to put up big numbers regardless of the RB coach. They are that talented. The RB coach might be great, but I don't think any of us know what difference he made. The backup running backs barely saw the field. Barfield was supposed to be a stud, but we haven't seen anything from him yet. Before becoming OC Kevin was the RB coach, right? It makes sense that he would go back to that role if he stays on the staff. If someone knows more I would love to hear it.

Austin Hill to portal
RIco Barfield to portal
Red Potts to draft
Barfield just never got reps.... I thought he could have been good. Never saw the field again after dropping the pass against Toledo. Sadly he will be remembered forever amongst us for that play.

The RB room had a lot of stuff going on, I'm guessing.

Why have a running backs coach then? Or a QB coach? He was responsible for the running backs room..it's his position to coach. And they performed well. He's a young dad too and gets fired even though his position was a strength of the team...how in the world is THAT fair? C'mon...it flies in the face of what Neu says he's about and sends a helluva message to the team. It doesn't pass the smell test. Pemberton and Barfield rarely saw the field because Neu hands the ball to the #1 guy 25-30 times a game. So if we're going to talk fairness we were never saw what they could do. And just like Kelly who wasn't even allowed to throw the ball in practice, we are expecting guys who haven't played consistently in three years to suddenly light it up. We are terrible at developing players on the offensive side of the ball. Period.

Sure, but do you fire a guy who evidently got the job done if you're looking at the running game in general just to make room for a guy who's being demoted?? Because his last name is Lynch? Obviously we don't know the whole story, but I'm not keen on removing people in favor of others who weren't good at their job.

Maybe it's just because of his name. I have no idea. Hate to see the RB coach lose his job if that is true. I just don't think we know enough to say it is the right or wrong move.
