I was thinking some of these guys were about to get their chance. Guess not here.
Hope that means there are some young studs already on the roster that are going to make a difference next year and not people who are upset because of changes in the staff.

The portal impacts everyone. The best players have options can hope for NIL deal, to play on a bigger stage. My guess is those "good" teams playing in bowls may end up hurt a little less. Top to bottom slightly better rosters and very likely able to recruit slightly better at least. Coaches like bowls for recruiting. Having said that what's the bottom line? The MAC loses a lot of good players and will replace them with players who would not probably be as good. Hard to argue the portal helps our level. Holding your own as a bottom of FBS conference is hard enough. |

Most of the guys who've left via the portal haven't found a whole lot of success elsewhere, even at lower levels. (which begs the question, why did we even recruit them?) We'll see if that holds true or if this year's batch can actually improve their situations.

Sure, but do you fire a guy who evidently got the job done if you're looking at the running game in general just to make room for a guy who's being demoted?? Because his last name is Lynch? Obviously we don't know the whole story, but I'm not keen on removing people in favor of others who weren't good at their job. Was Kevin bad as RB coach? He was promoted to OC. Maybe it's just because of his name. I have no idea. Hate to see the RB coach lose his job if that is true. I just don't think we know enough to say it is the right or wrong move. It's true we don't really know what's going on inside that building. |

Well both Emus and Miamis Qb hit the portal in the last half hour. Guess Bowl games dont mean squat to them and shows just what I posted earlier.. Every ones inbthe same boat

We seem to be going hard for DL DB Wr and targeting lower level all stars which has worked better for us than power 5 flame outs. We have also offered a fair amount of jucos. Jucos you just never know its truely just a crapshoot at our level

Jucos you just never know its truely just a crapshoot at our level New IU coach said at JMU he had a lot more success with xfers who moved sideways or up vs. p5 xfers moving "down." Catch the up and comers no matter the level, not the guys who just didn't pan out at P5 programs and appear to have maxed out. |
