Mills....we are not to far apart, but as I recall Bum played more minutes early and found his way to the bench, I do not put all of that on Lewis but if you are struggling and somebody screams at you it doesn't help is my view! I agree that Bum should not have played before Boogie or Jacobs but he could have been a bigger contributor motivated properly is my view. Right on Sherman... I'm happy for Bum to have some success in his final year, but he is still shooting 37%from and 37% from 3. A change of scenery was good for him.

Good starting 5 last year. Jacobs was the best at doing what Lewis wanted. Everybody else had lapses on D and trouble keeping the ball moving on offense.
He's probably the one we miss the most even though Sellers more talented, and Sparks the hardest matchup on offense we had.

Both recruits currently committed are athletes who want to defend. Some question as to offense. Neither a PG or big man although one kid plays bigger. That points to what we want in the portal. Not sure how you came to the conclusion the recruits want to defend any more than the players we have. Every kid wants to defend for pride and playing time.

I grant you the reputed desire to play D isn't proven. It is mentioned about both. You may be right. I sure wish every kid had pride in defense...I think coaches have to look hard to find that.

The Juco guard is explosive. He can get his own shot and he can create off the dribble. Not a fantastic shooter but he's had some recent games that were pretty damned good. 28, 7, and 5 in his most recent game and 24/7/5 the game before that. He's avg. 15 ppg in 17 minutes per game. So, he can score, and he can get hot shooting it, and he rebounds and he's also a good assist man. He'll be a good combo guard for us and he'll be more explosive and more of a playmaker than what we have now. He just won't be much of a 3 point shooter unless that improves drastically. I don't think that's really his game though. He attacks. We need that.
Bearden, there is zero indication he can score yet, (and maybe he's not asked to score much on his team) but, he's long and is reputedly a very good defender. If he's springy and athletic he might see court time early but is more likely a project. If he develops then we might have something.
Obviously we have to wait and see who stays and what Lewis can bring in via the portal. Jury still way out.

You know how coaches have a coaching tree. Id love to see Hendrixs injury tree I will say he was moving much better in his than Doughty has been in his. Probably just precautionary.
