This basketball program is a squishy, stinking, worm-infested pile of dog shit. Quit making excuses. We are much worse than that.

I don't understand but the Cards actually play better on the road. Why is that?! RF I used to feel we played poorly at home (and many conference road games) because there was a lack of atmosphere and crowd energy to feed off of. Today was a decent crowd.. reported 4700, maybe the largest of year. I don’t know what the promotion was, but a good community turnout. In return for their time and dollars they saw an absolutely “dog shit” performance.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a team that so consistently throws up in the last four minutes of home games as this one does. Four winnable home games that we just shat away.
Here is a stat that will make you feel better. Eastern had lost nine straight roadies including all of their MAC away games until they arrived at the friendly confines of Worthen. We should be sponsored by Marriott your home away from home.

We aren’t making the MAC tourney and honestly don’t need to make it won’t mean a damn thing. I had thought Lewis was a fantastic hire and for awhile last year it sure looked like it. This year is just a completely different story and I’m pretty concerned. Western Michigan 7-7 +2 Miami 7-7 +2 (own tie breaker) Kent State 6-8 +1 Ball State 5-9 Eastern Michigan 4-10 -1 Northern Illinois 3-10 -1.5 Buffalo 2-12 -3 We are two games beind WMU and Miami and one game behind Kent State Four games to go. We play Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Kent State, and Bowling Green. I see us winning at most one of those games. Kent State plays Buffalo, Central Michigan, Ball State, and Toledo. Miami plays Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Toledo, and Ohio Western Michigan plays Eastern Michigan, Ball State, Bowling Green, and Akron. It will be a miracle if we make the tournament.

We went 5-25 from three point range and Jones, Jihad, Pearson and Anderson combined to go 3-19. How can we be so bad collectively at home? It’s just mind blowing.

Our las field goal was a Davion Bailey made Layup with 6:03 to play. More shocking is before that you have to go back to the 12:11 mark for a Jalin Anderson made Layup. We made two field goals in the last 12:11 of the game. 17 points total. Against the#8 defense in the MAC.

Western Michigan 7-7 +2 Miami 7-7 +2 (own tie breaker) Kent State 6-8 +1 Ball State 5-9 Eastern Michigan 4-10 -1 Northern Illinois 3-10 -1.5 Buffalo 2-12 -3 Kent State plays Buffalo, Central Michigan, at Ball State, and at Toledo. Miami plays at Bowling Green, at Eastern Michigan, Toledo, and Ohio Western Michigan plays at Eastern Michigan, at Ball State, Bowling Green, and Akron. I added the detail of where the games are at, because I heard about this thing called "home court advantage" which supposedly increases the chances of the home side winning. Probably just BS because I haven't noticed such a thing. Miami - is out of range. We would effectively have to gain three games on them with four left. No f------g way. They will surely win at least one more, meaning we would have to run the table. No f-----g way. WMU - We obviously HAVE to beat them to even have a discussion here. Let's say we do. They ARE a really bad team remember. Then we only have to make up one more game on them to tie and take the tiebreaker. They COULD lose out from here. In which case we would only need one other win from at CMU, Kent, at BG. None of those is likely by itself but not entirely out of the question to get one. Ok, this scenario is not very likely but not completely nuts either. Maybe a 15% to 20% chance. Kent - interesting that this is even mathematically possible. Not sure what is going on over there. They seemed to be a solid #2 at the beginning of the conf season. Anyway this is another case where we HAVE to get the head to head win to have a chance. They have fallen but are still 102 spots above us in the rankings. Let's say we beat them and end up in a tie (not a given as they have a near auto-win in Buffalo left). If I understand the tiebreakers right, their win against BG gives them an advantage, UNLESS we beat CMU or BG. So I think if we beat Kent and CMU, we are in. If we beat Kent and BG, it likely goes deep into the tiebreaker system and then who knows? Taken as a whole, this possibility is probably worse than with getting in over WMU. Kent is very disappointing by their standards, but they are not flat out terrible like WMU.

We’ve got a lot of room under the salary cap so I assume we will do the majority of our roster reload in the free agent market. Just my suggestion.

The demeanor of the team is to play not to lose late in games, clearly. We play so uptight in crunch time and it shows obviously in the win-loss column.

Why aren't we playing Middleton. I thought the team was better with him at the point. Not only would I like to see Middleton play more, but shoot the ball when he's in. It's like the key for both him and Jones getting minutes is not shooting the ball. It's like their thought process when in the game is: "better not shoot the ball because if I miss Lewis will pull me and I'll be on the bench the rest of the game." For the season Middleton is .442 from the field and .475 from 3-point range.
