However I hold myself to a higher standard than that. It won't happen again. If a board's members allow themselves to get slack in this sort of thing, a board can go downhill in a hurry. |

Danielson signed a five-year, $6.535 million contract to become the next head coach at Boise State and even received an immediate $35,000 signing bonus. His salary starts at $1.1 million and increases annually by $100,000.
So, you see, the $6.5 million does not prevent Danielson from "building a culture", "committing to the program and each other" and does NOT represent "chasing a payday". But the stinky, nasty NIL money... THAT'S the real evil here.

Clearly NIL is the enemy and an impingement on what is really important - raising money he can control himself, like in the old days. Getting better players and winning? Meh. Who cares about that?
Contrast this mush to that video the Louisville AD put out making a full-throated plea for NIL money. AD's don't have to be like Mitchell.
