Tyler Cochran is off to the Oregon State Beavers! Finally, is out of the MAC. There's a camel toe joke in there somewhere. Well, as short and tight as Cochran wears his shorts....

Heres a bit it will not be pleasing to some
Ill add some more specific scenarios etc tomorrow
the collective still exists in the form of the non profit. The problem is the everchanging rules pending court cases and the unkown consequenses if any that might come. While most schools and collectives have decided to join the wild west scenario. Feed the bird has and will continue for at least the time being to follow all said rules and regs.. If things take to long it could change to a for profit where employees could be hired and the rules soften quite a bit. So the heads will continue to fund it themselves without much or any promotion. They are going to use a grad assistant to at least update web page. Its sustainable and mac competitve for at least tge near future

Let’s make sure we play by the rules. That is our best bet and we can also establish a chat forum with the other five or six schools and share our success stories.

We are currently supporting 22 current ball state athletes from various sports the Bulk being from Fb Bb and Wbb
collectives can not or are not supposef to interfere with recruits So what these coaches are doing is 100% pure recruiting
Hmmmmm Im forgetting something oh yea not all Nil support or payment has to come from a collective
You me or anyone else can offer a private deal to a player who someone might suggest to us🤔

The NCAA bureaucrats are going to end up with a say at some point. And the big money leagues and rank and file players will all actually agree to that. It's just going to be chaotic until the threat is real to destroy college sports Which of course could happen...

Another quick add the difference between what kids are getting for football and b ball is huge. B ballers 3 to 5 times more than football
The good news is we are better than what I thought MAC wise and its sustainable for a while. We will never keep someone if P5 wants him. We will never pay a kid an incredible amount but we are going to have enough to field decent teams

Oh and 22 kids we are supporting are required to donate time to second harvest food bank. This is mandatory no exceptions

collectives can not or are not supposef to interfere with recruits So what these coaches are doing is 100% pure recruiting Not clear on this. Providing them money, or promising them money is interfering...isn't it? Or are you saying they are recruited and signed and THEN the collective contacts them? That would not be workable and is not my impression of what is happening.

So Utah (or someone indirectly representing Utah) promising recruits new Ram Trucks is not interfering with recruiting?

The legal question to be determined is whether a "league" (NCAA) can protect its brand as "college" sport and how much restrictions on the players is "reasonable" to do that under the so called rule of reason.
Pro baseball, starting with Curt Flood, faced the fact they couldn't completely restrict salary by owner agreements. But MLB had some options.
Eventually the balance has been struck by lawsuits over what the boundaries are, and agreeing to player unions. The collective bargaining agreement protects the players(especially low paid ones) and also allows significant restriction on free agency which hurts the rookies and protects the established stars. Draft, salary cap, player health benefits, pensions, and so on
Current litigation is being settled by the same team of lawyers that crafted the NFL "treaty."
The NCAA regulations are currently on hold awaiting legislation or lawsuit. They will resurface in one way or another.
