I don’t recall him commenting much on football but for men’s hoops his negativity was pretty justified given the fact we haven’t sniffed the Dance in 22 years, we continually hung on to average coaching talent, we recruited below average and then to have apologists who made an art of excusing that level of shitiness while simultaneously preaching ad nauseam why we could never hope to do better ….it kinda feels like his lack of tolerance and angst were understandable, right. Man that was a long effing sentence. An excellent sentence nonetheless. |

We also have to remember that there was a time that we all hated the internet personna sweep. Almost all of has had him blocked and had we had a moderator he most likely would have been gone. It was not until he came back after his initial heart scare that he changed a bit. He raged war and focused mainly on OOhmh and BSUKId because they continued to feed him. He was the classic internet troll for 15 years. Eventually though his style or lack their of got him seat at the table. My recollection of sweep on the old board was basically a troll who was screwing with us. But on this board even before his heart issue I thought he was at least participating in good faith, even if caustically. |

It feels right to take few shots at Whitford here in Sweep's memorial thread. I notice that Sweep was online here on the evening of 6/18 and the date of death given in that obit was 6/19. We should probably take a few shots at 00 too, just for Sweep. |

On the ballstatesports website the game is not listed as televised so I checked ESPN and it looks like they’re showing BSU vs DePaul Saturday at 2. Should be a more exciting matchup than Depauw.

Strange, isn't it? Sweep and I both typed many thousands of words into this forum, and read each other contributions. But I had no idea who he was and didn't know he had died. Reflecting on this doesn't suggest that we are all spending our time particularly wisely. It’s certainly not a productive use of our time but it’s human nature to seek out connections. I don’t personally know anyone here but definitely feel a strong sense of community on this board. |

That’s what I was afraid of. I didn’t always agree with the way he posted but I did frequently enjoy his posts. He will be missed.

I agree that it’s still possible. Every MAC game we’ve been in has been one score. We need to do our best not to shoot ourselves in the foot and hope some key things go our way, but it’s possible. Toledo chokes every year and the eastern teams are all just as unpredictable as we are.

Started joking that if Steele ran the ball for more than 3 yards the coaches would take him out because it was screwing up their game plan. Spot on for last week. Every play was a 3-4 yard run or a 3-4 yard pass. Today we took more shots and got a clear explanation why we havent been taking many shots. I love Neu and am rooting hard for him, but we have never gotten the “nfl quarterbacks coach” quarterback play I expected from him. |

I dont see us changing from Paddock. First, Neu sticks with his choices seemingly for better or worse. Second, the entire team seems to love and support Paddock. Hunt was asked about him in the postgame and he said he would never say a bad word about Paddock.
