Very winnable game. We open as the favorite. I expect a close game, but we move to 5-3. I don’t care how we do it, just get the W!

Very winnable I don’t know about that. The most winnable game left on the schedule yes it is.
EMU is and have been a very weird team kinda like us. They can put up points so if they do and we can’t pass we are going to get bounced. They suck at D but our passing problems are not caused by the other team they are self inflicted
If we can fix the passing game and play good D yes I think we win
If we can’t fix the passing game and our d is tremendous we might have a shot in a close game
If the D reverts or has a bad game plus no passing we could get smoked by 30

We’re favored so I’d agree with winnable. But both teams are Jekyll and Hyde. Before the line was posted I said I expected it to open even and it wouldn’t surprise me if either team won by 21.

I think it’d have been better for us if last Saturday was emu’s ON Day.
if we don’t get that passing game on track we might not win again against the remaining schedule. Much better offenses coming our way.

The way EMU started beating a PAC 12 team I thought they’d be trouble but after the NIU beat down I expect the Cards to win in a shootout 48-41.

Might come down to the third phase of the game and who is better there with both teams being so close. The blocked FG last week leaves me wondering if we can win the special teams part.

Not surprised by this. We never throw more than 3-4 yards past the line of scrimmage unless it is 3rd down in which case we throw 2 yards short of the line to gain.

We have a long completion of 38 yards 18 of those yards were YAC. Our longest pass in the air covered 20 fucking yards, Awful

I bet Rob’s 7th grade team has had longer passes. I knew from watching the games we’ve lacked explosive pass plays, but it is glaring when you read the stats. Yikes.

Neu talks about how Paddock is the best passer he's had, yet we can't pass. It's weird. I can't tell if it's by design for ball control, or if he just can't get the ball downfield. He has the arm, is he gun shy right now? Or if the offense is the way it is to cover up that he can't. If he just can't then we're playing with one hand tied behind our back. We did that last year too. Neu is loyal to a fault. He won't change QB's. Everything is out of Paddock's hand in 2 seconds so everything is a 3 yard pass and we do not have guys capable of getting YAC. Uconn was tackling our guys almost before they caught the ball, it was that bad. Non one seems to be open. And if they are open, John throws it 5 yards over their heads. He's late on anything that's not a first read so if guys are open, they aren't by the time the ball gets there. Paddock seems to be having trouble really pulling the trigger, which, he didn't have that problem vs. NIU. The last two weeks he's been dreadful. I hope he snaps out of it because we really need that element. Right now teams can put 8 in the box against Steele and its a fight to get yards, especially in the first half. We don't have or don't use backs who can run wide and turn the corner. Our offense is mostly between the tight ends/tackles. The big run to win the game last week Steel actually bounced outside and no one was there to stop him because everything else had been basically inside the hashes. Passes to the boundary are mostly bubble screens that have no bubble, or 4 yard outs that are tackled immediately. Basically we're seeing the Plitt offense all over again, with no Hall to make big plays. We're not vertical unless a TE runs free. We are super predictable and are essentially a 90's offense of, here's our running back, stop him if you can. But our oline isn't dominant to pull that off. Steele up the middle, Steele up the middle, Paddock 3 yard pass when we need 4 for a first down is our first half offense. We're struggling to lead WR's with throws so they aren't able to go anywhere after the catch. It's maddening.
