I heard that they didn’t have to pay him but reached a settlement. It just seems like a lot for me. They chose to be decent. Didn’t have to let that money go. And maybe you keep the pot sweet in the off chance luck decides to come back. I wonder if the settlement with fine print terms will be public.

I can't tell you how curious I am to know what Pat McAfee thinks of this situation. No doubt the Indy Star will let us know during one of their tri-weekly Pat McAfee updates.

Luck is going to be the owner, coach, and QB of an expansion XFL franchise in Indy in 2021, calling it now!

I think he might be bipolar. That's the only way this makes any sense.

A guy who bailed on WVU after one week and eventually got fired at BG because of lack of success sure has a lot of ugliness towards a man who endured a lot playing football. You can say things without the jerky bile and still get your point across.

Doofus Duckich always needs to cater to the high school Harrys who listen to his garbage “opinions”
He heard the boos and knows that the Colt fans will be agitated about Luck’s departure and jumps on that side of the bandwagon
Not an original thought in his muddled personal fog

It's ridiculous the Indy Star ran an article on the Doug Gottleib comments but completely avoided Dakich's remarks which are far more critical and obtuse.

I don't know what Dakich said and don't care. But I'm glad Luck was made aware of the feelings of the fanbase and particularly the season ticket holders. People in his position are typically surrounded by sycophants and butt-kissing media types who would never give him that feedback. Maybe his calf/ankle is really bad....I don't know because all his injuries are made into such a mystery. Whose fault is that, if people don't appreciate the severity of his current injury? Anyway, he doesn't seem to have any issue with cashing the $$$$ check that results from the hopes and interest colts fans had in him leading their team.

The timing of the decision definitely makes no sense. I mean do you really decide to give it all up in 10 days and just 2 weeks before the season? Something deeper in his mind must be going on.

I guess you now know why Peyton showed up in camp a week or so ago. Not even HE could talk Luck off the cliff.

The next shoe to drop in Indianapolis sports will be Vic retiring mid-season due to his injury too.

Tony Katz on WIBC made an interesting point this morning. People were booing, not at luck, but at Irsay and the Colts organization, for what's being perceived as a lack of honesty about the situation leading up to now.
Going all the way back to Peyton's neck injury, the Colts seem to have a problem admitting to injuries that will cause their star players to miss significant amounts of time, to make sure season ticket sales don't take a hit.
It's hard to trust the Colts at this point. You can't tell me that in 6 months, with some of the best doctors around, they couldn't figure out a muscular-skeletal problem like a bum leg? And get it treated?
Something else is at play here. An underlying issue.

And get it treated? Something else is at play here. An underlying issue. I don't think his leg was ever a problem at all. There is video of him throwing before last week's preseason game and he looks perfectly fine. I think this all started back in the spring, and the "calf injury" was concocted to make it appear he was struggling with another injury/recovery process after he told the Colts he was having doubts about his future. The Colts gave him time to think it over. Training camp rolls around, he's still on the fence. So the injury narrative is altered to an ankle problem, making it appear more serious to excuse him from playing in any games or practices. The Colts probably gave him a deadline of the third preseason game to make his decision, as they needed to know their starting QB soon. Luck plans his announcement for after the game, it gets leaked, and here we are.
