No, it's poorly written by the DN. SHE was in the car when the police got there and her statement indicated Walker beat her head on the ground. The uber driver WAS going to transport her, she was the only one in the car. Walker didn't beat her in the car. The driver was stating the girl who was in the car at the time the police arrived was the victim, not that Walker was also in the car. Good Lord, who in the hell wrote that article and where is the editor ? That's just pathetic.

"When police arrived, they spoke to an Uber driver who said Walker was hitting a female passenger in his Uber." You read it how they wrote it. The DN story does make it sound like Walker was hitting the girl while in the Uber.
Here's the StarPress version: "The witness who told police he saw part of the violence was an Uber driver, who was preparing to transport the woman from the scene when officers arrived."

The fact that he hasn't been bounced already, at least not publicly, is very telling to me

Yea he just has to go no questions asked Assuming he goes, it will involve some questions asked anyway. I'd like to think any chance he stays involves a lot of questions asked, and answered, but the history in college sport is that either way we may not know what questions and what answers there are to them. Too often it is just a PR decision, I don't like that. As far as the University process, I'd say there are always questions and I have a sense that whatever actually happened here Walker was thought of reasonably highly, and especially if that is so you can't avoid due process at the least, just as much at least as any other student.

Here is the deal he admitted to taking her phone and not letting her call the cops. There is an eye witness that saw him bouncing her had of the concrete. I get the other side maybe she was all drunked up started the fight, slapt him around and what we know was the final outcome. There have been a couple times in my life where I was in the position that a drunk/crazy girl basically attacked me. Any sane person who saw it would have said man you should have knocked her out. I never did that because as a man/boy the first thing you are taught is that you never ever hit a girl for any reason. That rule is beaten into our heads from Kinderarten on is it fair for the guy? Probably not but it is what is.
