Moses is definitely more physical the past 6 -8 games. As Reevo pointed out, would love to see him dominate against the better big men like Thompson, Perkins and Wiggins but in 15 league games he’s now averaging 15 points and 9 boards. Pretty damn solid and he is much more assertive. Creating contact and stronger with ball too. Moses has been a good big man in the MAC since his freshman year. NOT so good we would expect him to to dominate other good big men, and often he has been outplayed. But, that is to some degree true for all MAC bigs. Despite the things we see where he could improve, at this point those stats are very impressive. Against Buffalo, if he can match their big guys, and we can continue with good inside play with Teague, we have a chance, even though their wings and guards are more gifted than ours, it looks like at least in recent play their cohesion and team defense has not been as good as ours. I suspect we have to catch them without their A game to win, or as reevo suggests perhaps we'll not have to worry about it. Last summer before so many things have happened with this team that have made success more unlikely, I thought we had good chances to win the regular season, and a good chance, equal to anybody else to get the Final in Cleveland. After all that has happened that we are closing in on 20 games and are in the top 3 of the MAC and can still talk about getting to the Final, it is a good season. Trey deserves a huge part of the credit. Suffered loss of his best friend, and injury, long time to recover to where he was last summer, and has struggled to get to the point of being an impressive player. I'm really looking forward to his play the rest of this year and next! Would not trade him right now, he's still not the most talented big man, but he fits our team well and he's not done and can continue to improve. Great young man, great work ethic, it's been a tough road, but we may be able to say when he's done at BSU he is one of our best, and probably will say he has done as much with the talent he has as anyone. Well, except Ray...

Moses and Teague have really stepped up. Losing the guards appears to have forced Whitford to play high percentage ball, which is working.
Can't wait for Sellers to hit that next three.
Good for Thompson continuing to play well.
The one thing Mallers is still missing is defense.

Only 11 points from the bench is a bit concerning. Especially Amin getting no points.

Good for Thompson continuing to play well. The one thing Mallers is still missing is defense. I disagree a bit about Mallers, he is a good defender, often being tasked to defend the best opposing player. Not quite Paris McCurdy, of course, but he's glue that holds us together on defense and offense. With the limitations we have on D, we'd be in trouble there without him. As far as losing the guards, I wish we had them, but I'm glad we are finally able to get the bigs into play. And, seeing Josh get in is also good. But. Just think how much better we would be if we'd have options now, and much more ability to defend some teams. If we are really going to do something, I fear we need more options, probably we need Francis to shake out of his funk. That is yet another setback this year, and a bit of a mystery. I have always believed we were going to go to having Teague and Moses in the lineup together at the end of the season. All dependent on their ability to both play hard on offense and avoid fouls. That was impossible for us to do early on. Remember, Trey was injured and coming along slowly, and Teague was not playing with the same activity or as well either. Plus, as you point out we had other very good offensive weapons then. We really had a good bench with Teague and Tyler coming in with much greater athleticism. But, not just Tyler who could explode in a game, but Walker was deceptively reliable and losing him really hurt. He'd fit well in this offense, although he would need to step up defense to stay on the court! This season has been a story of constantly having to change plans. Where we are now, it is true we don't have much choice. While for next year it is good to get the freshmen PT, I am not happy with our bench.

Nice game plan by the staff. Doing a great job especially considering losing three guys that would be coming off the bench. Kudos to the players for buying in.
It all depends if we can make a decent number of 3s to help open up the middle so Teague and Moses can have a chance. The team is playing with good effort.

I also feel we have become a better team when we were forced to start Teague and Moses together as a result of the losses at guard. Mallers does play good defense, the team in general playe good defense, something like second best in the MAC! Keep hearing about how this team or that has the guards who are going to clean our clock, it takes more than one player to win a game. This team is playing tough all around. Western will test us, two away games will test us - but this team is passing recent test and I hope they continue to believe in thenselfs. I believe!

I want the home win against Western but does anyone else think a loss in one of the last two might not be a bad thing.

I want the home win against Western but does anyone else think a loss in one of the last two might not be a bad thing. CMU and NIU both stink. I'd be concerned if we lost to either. After dominating teams we should dominate the past four games, dropping one would worry me that we're losing focus. I think we can win the conference tournament if we play tough and focused. And we can lose in our first game if we play soft and undisciplined.

A win is a win BUT once again, we beat a last place team. We should be beating these guys like a drum. Gotta beat a conference foe at the top, on the road. Until then I am still a doubter. I write this like anyone cares about my opinion.

And we can lose in our first game if we play soft and undisciplined. Sure, always try to avoid soft and undisciplined play. If you have to travel to play a relatively meaningless game, still may as well maintain effort. But these teams may be trying to rescue a dismal season by getting ready for the MAC. Either could give us a very good effort. Did not see that with NIU, I admit, but they did get up for Buffalo. I would expect at least one game where we have a let down, no worry about that for me. I do worry because I don't like seeing so many games with everyone playing 30+ minutes. You can't easily do that for weeks at a time. I think we suffered in the last 5 minutes last night partly due to that. So, I would not be too surprised or too concerned if we dropped one. And as little as we like it, having a bad game where you can point at that, focus on it, can actually reduce the pressure going into the MAC.

If I see this Earl of Sandwich CapitalOne ad one more time, I am cancelling my card. I said the exact same thing. I told my fiance ,"If i see this damn sandwich commercial one more time, i swear i will stop watching." I guess they called my bluff. I still watched.

I write this like anyone cares about my opinion. We did beat Toledo, didn't we? And, going on the road against anyone and winning is a really good sign going into the MAC. Doubting what? That is the issue. That we are a great team? I have no doubt. I am absolutely certain myself that this team is not a great team. Or that they cannot regularly beat the best on the road. Equally certain that we are capable of losing big, we have too many limitations. But I also have no doubts that we are capable of a great effort and a great game on a given night. Hope we don't need 3 in a row in Cleveland, I don't doubt, I am pretty certain we are too thin to accomplish that with this team.

Buffalo, who is considered the best, also lost to a last place team.

The team just has to maintain its focus and effort and the results will continue.
