I am not drinkin' this Kool Aid yet. We have THREE conference wins on the road. Ohio and Toledo twice (I guess we have their number). We are 5-8 on the road. That record away from home is not a good omen of things to come in the MAC tournamet 5 wins does include ND when they had their star player. Losses on the road include narrow ones to Dayton, Bucknell. And we are 3-4 in the MAC with a chance to end up 5-4. That's not bad. There are only 2 teams with better in conference road records. 3 teams with better road records overall, but one is BG with the weakest SOS in the MAC. Nobody is saying we are favorites in the tourney, after all. The Kool-aid is not that strong. Allow yourself just a taste.

Yes German pick up about 9 points when it did not matter.. He is still going to be a bitch for us especially at home. He got to the rim pretty much at will during the game. Just have to stop everyone else He even got stripped and blocked a couple of times and still went to the bucket hard, it’s just what he does

He has not shown he can shoot outside, but he does the same thing. Gets to the bucket, draws fouls. I wish he was taking this year to change his shot a little, especially on the open long range shots. But that is a tough decision.

It is obvious we are capable of playing well at times but just when one might think they are coming of age they lay an egg. Call me too critical, call me a sceptic, call me Edna, just don't call me if we beat a lousy team and act like we are in the Sweet Sixteen. Conference Road Wins This Season 1. Buffalo 5 2. Toledo 5 3. Ball State 3 4. Miami 3 5. Central Michigan 3 6. Eastern Michigan 3 7. Western Michigan 2 8. Bowling Green 2 9. Akron 1 10. Kent State 1 11. Ohio 0 - 0 road wins.. H.. I.. 0 road wins 12. Northern Illinois 0 Ball State is UNDEFEATED on a neutral court this season.

BSU being undefeated on a neutral court is a meaningless stat

I was wondering since German is from Gary does anyone know if we were trying to recruit him? Seems like a big miss on our part if we didn’t? Also I was at the game Tuesday night and I didn’t see the center from Indiana that was a stud State All Star anywhere on the roster in the program? Is he out or redshirted?

yes BSU blew the recruitment of German in basketball and the Woodside kid in football...who went to become all conference at Torleedoo. I do not remember hearing about a center from Indiana. I think we have a forward transfer who sat out this year and supposed to be a decent player.

Must be from an alternative universe. There is no Center from Indiana that was a stud All Star anywhere on this BSU roster. We have a 6' 10" center from Tennessee named Huggins who was red-shirted this his freshman year. He's a project that might someday be able to contribute, but he's certainly not a stud Indiana All-Star. And as of now, there's nothing like that coming to the rescue for us next year.

With further thought, I think you have morphed the transfer from Arkansas, Hazen who was an Indiana All-Star and Huggins, the Center from Tennessee.

The 6-10 Indiana All Stars from last year went to DePaul, Iowa and Louisville I think. None to an Indiana school. Of course we don't exactly need a rescue next year, anyway. Our front line will be pretty strong with Moses, Teague, Hazen, Mallers and Gunn along with the 6-10 kid who after a red shirt year should be a player who could provide some depth. Plus 2 pretty good wing players coming in as freshmen. We missed on couple of other good big prospects. Except. Huggins is a physical player without a lot of offensive skills, but all reports are he can defend and rebound. We did sign Hazen who will be a good MAC player and Walton who should be pretty good as a rugged guard who can defend and get to the basket. The back court will have Persons, Walton, Ish and Josh returning which is pretty good too. And we have two more scholarships potentially to add more talent. So the class is pretty good already and could add even more talent.

Yeah I guess I was confused. It must have been Jaylen Butz, that I was thinking about. But you're right he went to DePaul not N Ill.

Yes, Jaylen Butz would have been a good get and Whitford did recruit him. Just like this year Whitford recruited both Gavin Bizeau and Austin Rotroff both of whom signed with Duquesne.
OOhmh does a good and accurate job of running down our impressive roster for next season. The gaping hole is when Moses graduates. Whitford does seem to identify decent Mid-major big men such as Butz, Bizeau, and Rotroff, but outside of Moses, he's failed to close on any of them. Unless that changes, and it doesn't appear it's going to change this year, we are in serious trouble. Think of the current team without Moses in the middle? Think of last year's CIT game against Fort Wayne when Moses was injured and didn't play.

Yes we still have a year to find someone but so far we have struck out. Tough spot for a true freshman to step into and we have not been able as of yet to lure a decent transfer.
