we are not in serious trouble lol Explain what we do when Moses graduates.. Yes we still have a year to find someone but so far we have struck out. Tough spot for a true freshman to step into and we have not been able as of yet to lure a decent transfer. Good to worry about if we did not have more immediate worries. OTOH, think back to the year Moses came on board, we had Bo Calhoun in the middle, Franko and an unproven mid level big man recruit in Trey. We really surprised ourselves with how much we got done. Our problems were with disastrous play at guard. This year we worried about depth up front with good reason and it turns out we have to start Sellers at G late in the season. I'll worry about Moses later. Besides. Two years from now not only will Huggins be in his third year, not only will we have have quality front line players compared to the year Trey came in, Teague, Hazen, Mallers, Gunn, but after all it is easier to recruit big men when you can point to Trey leaving than when he has two more years left which is where we were this last year recruiting. So who can guess what the freshman big man will be? I am reasonably optimistic that we sign somebody in Fall, or can find the elusive transfer with the new transfer rules. Don't really buy that recruiting a good big man is impossible, just difficult... For those who do want to continue to worry about Whitford or just hate him, I'd speculate that he is moving on to a better job by the time Moses graduates, and then they can be buoyed by the promise we may have the chance to hire a miracle recruiter. But that last one seems to me to be only a little short of delusion. I don't buy how easy it is to find miracle recruiters as much as some here do. Hell, I worry more about losing Whit this year than I do about replacing Moses. I see us having our best chance for good team and a healthy long term prospect than we have had since 2002.

Whitford is going no where. Disagree. His stock should rise after next season. Possibly this season if we somehow how get through the MAC tourney.

We are at a point that we need to invest in the program in order to make that next step. IMO, that includes keeping Whitman, remodel the arena, fund assistant staff, promote the program. Also, make getting into and out of the parking area fan friendly. Again, did not pay to park at ND, parked next to the arena, easy in,easy out. Going to a Ball State basketball or football game is a bad experience - and it doesn’t matter the size of the crowd.

With this FBI probe into agent payments to players, there may be a lot of coaching positions available this spring and summer. Not that Whitford would get a high major offer, but the coaches that do get positions at a Michigan State, Duke, or other programs caught-up in the FBI probe will open-up positions for coaches like Whitford to "climb the latter". Might be a once in a lifetime chance for many a "clean" coach to better themselves.
