I love these kind of debates but damn it I am on a diet and every time I read Papa John my mouth waters... Can we have a code name for Papa or something
I thought Papa John was his code name.
It is, but Rob just sees pizza with that name and drools. Although, I think he drools all the time anyway.

Cardfan12 Did you take history? If you skipped it I'll make it easy for you. Just google the following words to get educated. Slavery, Trail of Tears, Lynching, Jim Crow laws, Martin Luther King? Police Brutality, Racial Profiling, Shit Whole Countries. You will learn that all of these topics I provided you that whites badly oppressed and killed blacks. We do not exist in a post racial society. Please forgive me for asking you to google and know that I do not own google and its contents. It is more likely owned by a while person. Hope this will help educate you albeit basic history of race and race relations that continue to exist to this day. Taking responsibility for our attitudes towards others will be a good start to make improvement. Ballman - I was considering a response to your post, until you uttered the condescending question, "Did you take history?" That killed it. I have taken a considerable number of history classes, covering many periods in history, and I have also taken African-American History classes as well. Oh, and thank you for you other condescending remark, where decided that you have "educated my albeit basic history of race and race relations." I feel like I got it now. THANK YOU!

Not to be confused with PB&J. I just don't think RMC's diet should limit our discussion. It never has when the topic is beer, which is surely more damaging to Rob's waistline and discussion than Pizza. Mouth watering, greasy, delicious, with all kinds of fatty meats and extra cheese...some jalapeno and assorted vegetables, the thick crust and marinara. Hold the anchovies, please. But I digress...don't know what came over me.
The point is we are often not all that sharp and would surely forget code names, and we are easily led off topic by far less.
I am already wondering whether there is some racist connotation to discussing PBJ.

Thanks for posting the breakdown of a great pizza while I am enjoying a breakfast of some kinda of fooffoo rice cake... Then you mention PBJ which was my late night staple.. This new lifestyle change sucks a stiffie... Surprised you did not bring up another favorite the classic the Oreo... Wait a second scratch that, its to sensitive.

My lord. A pbj sandwich can be racist or culturally insensitive? At what point have we gone too far?
I don’t think if we went to a foreign country they’d give a damn about how their food names might affect us.
Should whites be offended by soul food?

My lord. A pbj sandwich can be racist or culturally insensitive? At what point have we gone too far? I don’t think if we went to a foreign country they’d give a damn about how their food names might affect us. Should whites be offended by soul food? Hate to make a serious comment, but much of what is the most inflammatory and harmful racist comment goes not just to race but to oppression and disparity of power and position.
Much of the Trump base feels downtrodden and left out and oppressed by a system that no longer treats their cultural norms with respect, or at least tolerance. Of course some of those rosy memories of "old time" greatness and a more secure world that a large number of people yearn for was tainted by ignorance of race issues, acceptance of institutional racism and division and sometimes that older greater time involved acceptance and even participation in truly malign racist prejudice and exclusion of minorities.
Use of the N word showing lack of sensitivity by a white rich powerful person is therefore much different in that context than use in rap music or on the street by black America. Where, BTW, that use is also criticized by those who are trying to erase the ugliness of society in that era.
I grew up in the 50's,early 60's and saw some of that ugliness where shouting racial epithets in highly charged confrontation, and even violent response to the Civil Rights movement occurred. Many others here lived in that time too. Some want to think that is all in the past. I believe much of it is. But there is no doubt racism that remains. We are right to decry political correctness for the sake of political correctness but need to understand the way that is easily read as cover for lack of awareness of racism and even as racially motivated.

Cant you see Im clearly deflecting here. This is way to serious and someone is going to get butt hurt I'm all in on that idea of returning to our more frivolous discussion, as long as you are providing pizza and beer. And I'll promise to provide a whole pack of rice cakes and some diet tonic water for you after each home loss. Gin optional if you really think you can return to form without alcohol.

They caved. Stupid to do it now. They already got the bad PR, and it had already died down. Now they just look wishy-washy.
Sounds like Mearns may have forced their hand.
