Oh I'm sure it was massive. This is an example of our President caving. A major loss of respect for him in many eyes. That's the outcry I'm hearing. Really?
If there is a massive backlash and he is spending time talking about this instead of raising money, working the legislature, promoting BSU and the sports programs among others, and managing other even more important problems, it is simply a necessary thing for him to do.
I have a lot of respect for Schnatter, who is the one who caved initially by withdrawing from his board, then either made an insincere apology or bungled his communication with his later actions that seem to many to negate it.
I'll criticize a raft of the people who have overblown this situation, but not Mearns who has to pay the price for it. And I am willing to argue with you if you think Schnatter deserves no blame at all for his actions. Even if you hate political correctness dominating, the need for some that is just reality when you represent a business or a University. It is at some point just not professional to ignore it.
Where was the massive backlash? Please share.

Whitlock pulled no punches about Mearns/BOT/student body today.

WhitlockNot clear what exactly he wants. Students seemed in many cases clueless, thinking this was about them... Students speak

Somewhere along the way of growing up, someone told these “kids” in college that have yet to accomplish anything, in most cases, that their opinion is more important than their abilities and actions.

About time. The damage is done though..this should have never gotten this far. Im guessing there was a bigger outcry than many of you on here are willing to accept. Oh I'm sure it was massive. This is an example of our President caving. A major loss of respect for him in many eyes. That's the outcry I'm hearing. I'm disgusted with Mearns having no spine on this issue. He's the one that browbeat the BOT into submission.

I refuse to be afraid of a word in the English language. If you allow people speak the way they want, you will learn more about them in a shorter period of time.
