Nobody should have to suffer through the depths we have seen, but right now I suspect most fan bases would be happy with our results. Over the last 3 years we've been good. Yes fourth place seeds in the MAC tourney would excite almost anyone. There are more than a few Programs in the MAC who would trade places. And in the context of the discussion where we are looking at the last 16 years maybe there is some excitement and joy in Mudville and there should be.
You don't really seem to want to be happy, so I understand your point of view.

Yes because there is no rational reason to be unexcited with finishing in the middle of the MAC, so it must be based on a personal issue. I swear you get dumber by the week.

Let’s not rewrite our anemic MAC Tournament record which stands at 1-5, OK?

Let’s not rewrite our anemic MAC Tournament record which stands at 1-5, OK? Sure. Nor should we rewrite or ignore the good wins, the improvement and good basketball we have played in the last few years. Even if we've seen some clinkers in that stretch. Nothing in my comments indicates we should not want more. But why not enjoy the successes? And acknowledge them.

In the context of 16 years, its a very short list of programs who have not even made it to the MAC finals, maybe 3 other programs at most. In context of 3 years, sure you could add someone like Miami OH that could potentially be envious.

Please read what I said. Which was that RECENT success was such that many MAC programs would be happy with it. Try a comparison of 3 or 4 years...
NOBODY needs to have 16 years like we have had. Not arguing there.

People would be more content with this season if next season didn't have the trappings of a pending disaster. This was supposed to be our big season and it looks like we are a third or fourth place MAC team.

This was supposed to be our big season and it looks like we are a third or fourth place MAC team. This is a promising season. We will be top 3 right there for a 2 seed, it looks to me, best team since 2004, but I realize you always take the low estimate.
As for next year, your penchant for predicting doom is premature.
Losing Trey and Persons is big, but we'll have a lot coming back. Several have a lot of room to improve over the next year. Plus 4 or 5 players coming in who you are underestimating. Net talent we may be better. How it fits together will be why we play the games instead of just talking about it on the internet.

Thomas is the wild card. And the ability of Bumbalough to play PG in the MAC. I just don’t think Ish can play the point full time. Huggins won’t give us much, if we’re honest about him, and the Hendriks kid would be years away. Been hearing Thomas is a really impressive athlete so pair him with Teague and that’s a good front line. Walton and Hazen will be a year better. Mallers will be there. Etc.
The big question mark is who will play the 2. I think Ish will be given first crack but he’s gotta defend. And the time honored question of do we have a point guard.

I am hearing Thomas is the real deal. The problem I see right now is the point guard position. Everyone that I talk to thinks bum is going to be a very good MAC player and also hear he is tough as nails. You back through the years and we have had some question marks at the point that turned out pretty damn good. Randy Zachary and Jamie Mathews come to mind. Bum is going to have to play from the get go so we will see. If he is as tough minded as I am hearing, he will be fine.

Can Ish get it done? Or is the answer the extent to which we can play without a PG by sharing ball handling.
I have seen it done very well. And let's be honest Persons isn't a true PG, either, so maybe we partially solve the problem by how we learn to play this year.
We can't be a lot worse defending at that position and really need to improve at help on the good guards we encounter.

1,2 and 5 are all serious problem areas next season, and 4 is an area of concern with Teague graduating this spring. You should never be in a position where you are hoping a Freshman might be able to handle the point.

That's hardly a positive.
