I was chatting with a coach last month and I asked about Huggins his response was.. "I know he looks the part but he needs a lot of work" So we will see if someone on the staff can mold him into a contributor. That used to be Thorntons job but he is gone so we have a new coach to do the job

Hendrix may be the replacement for Teague, not Moses. He is a cypher right now, not much idea what he is. I would suggest Miryne Thomas is more the replacement for Teague. I think Whitford is hoping Hendrix is a 5 who can stretch the floor by shooting the 3-ball that Moses can't. At 205 lbs. I can't see Hendrix being much of a rebounder.

Bet they would have said the same thing about Mading Thok during his time here. We all know how that worked out.

Ahh Mading Thok A blind man could have looked at him and new it was not going to work. Remember the one game he blocked two shots and scored a bucket.. The reaction on the board was like Jesus had risen.. I do not think he ever played again

I do not think he ever played again I don't remember that particular game, but I vaguely remember one game where they allowed him to play about 10 minutes and he scored about 10 points. Unfortunately he also gave-up about 20 points on the other end of the floor with his total inability to play any defense. I came to the conclusion it was always going to be the case with him; give-up 2 points for everyone he scored.

Ah yes Mading Thok, I remember a game where he bettered starting point guard Xavier Turner in assists, with one.

This conversation made me look back at Mading Thok's stats. In his red-shirt Freshman year (2013-14 season) he actually appeared in 13 games for a total of 97 minutes, or 7.5 minutes/game. In those 97 minutes he took 23 shots and made 16 of them for a .696 fg%; the highest % on the team that year by far. By his second year (the 2014-15 season) he only appeared in 4 games for a total of 23 minutes or 5.8 minutes per game. In those 23 minutes he only took 6 shots, but still made 4 for a .667 fg%. Obviously by his second year Whitford had decided to drive him out of the program and he transferred out at the end of the season. I don't think Huggins is capable right now of a fg% of anywhere near .600 percent even based on a small sample size.

I was looking through stats this morning and a few things jumped off the page. In 130 minutes of play small forward Zach Gunn doesn't have a single assist this season. BSU ranks 282nd in turnovers per game and 292 in off rebounds given-up per game. Our opponents are simply getting more shots per game where we rank 326.
We have a player named "Gunn" who has zero assists in 130 minutes of play? Alright! I think we've just found the most interesting thing to follow this season.
And just like that we lost the most interesting thing to follow this season. Gunn got an assist last night.

Any and all references to those halcyon days of Thok and *Zavier Turn(ov)er are greatly appreciated here. I remember a few games where I feared folks near me might spontaneously combust, they were calling so vigorously for his removal.

I noticed the Trey apologists cited his statistical career. If that stat line is ok for you then no wonder we are stuck in mediocrity. How about getting some folks who are hungry for rebounds and dunks? Trey's passivity is shameful. Feed him some "raw meat" or something.

But, by recruiting a kid from the hills of Tennessee, where they haven't heard of small ball, maybe that describes Huggy?

Feed him some "raw meat" or something. “We”...I guess I was unaware that you were part of the current team, or a past member. I bet your just a dunking and rebounding machine at the local church league. Must be all that “raw meat” your eating. If not then your fanhood is, how’d you say, shameful. It takes someone really bitter in life to downplay a college basketball player’s career because it didn’t meet “your” expectations...like your expectations mean jack shit!!
