I noticed the Trey apologists cited his statistical career. If that stat line is ok for you then no wonder “ we” are stuck in mediocrity. How about getting somfolks who are hungry for rebounds and dunks? Trey's passivity is shameful. Feed him some "raw meat" or something. “We”...I guess I was unaware that you were part of the current team, or a past member. I bet your just a dunking and rebounding machine at the local church league. Must be all that “raw meat” your eating. If not then your fanhood is, how’d you say, shameful. It takes someone really bitter in life to downplay a college basketball player’s career because it didn’t meet “your” expectations...like your expectations mean jack shit!! I'll bet you refer to Kentucky as "we".

So you can have an opinion but he can’t? Sweet. Never one time said people can’t have opinions...please show me where I said that. But there is a difference between opinions and flat out bullshit statements. How can you call out a player and call him passive, because he doesn’t dunk or rebound as much as you like? When in my previous post I presented actual facts, that show that said player is going to end his career in the Top 5 of Rebounds, and be a 1000 point scorer, probably by next week. I don’t know how many dunks he’s had, but others than the four 3 pointers he’s hit, I’m quite positive the other baskets in his 367 made, counted as the same 2 points.

I’ve seen him play....it needs to be pointed out that the “fan base” isn’t satisfied with this level of play as the standard for future.
We’re professional fan board participants. We hold ourselves to a very high standard when it comes to coach, player and AD criticism.
Thanks for the input. The Mods will issue warning letters where appropriate.

I sure as hell don’t call out my kids on a message board. And I’m 100% positive that Trey isn’t related to the poster calling him passive. Trey is a great kid but he is passive. He will end up having a better then average career at BSU and there is nothing wrong with that. Not sure if you have been around as long as some of us have but our best teams, our teams that dominated the late 80’s and into the 90’s had a distinction that our teams lately just plain out lack and that is a physicality and toughness inside the paint. We were physical, we were mentally tough and we were consistently the bad boys of the MAC. I am not ashamed to admit that we were at times on the thuggish side but we never backed down to anyone. Trey, though skilled, disappears far too often and really struggles against more physical teams. This is not an opinion but pure fact. I really don’t care about his stats because a lot of our past better inside players were either 2 or 3 year players. The point is Trey serves his role but what this team really needs is a more physical post, something that Trey is not and it is not who he is. My issue has never been with Trey as a person but with why Whitford shys away from recruiting guys that are physical. Again, not Trey’s fault but a philosophy our current coach believes in and has cost us in big games with teams that get after us. The Buffalo’s, Akron’s, Ohio’s and Kent have owned us since 2002 and the difference has been interior play. Trey has struggled against those teams and has really struggled when we play against the power conference teams. Honestly, Trey is a good complimentary player but we really need more from his position to get by Buffalo and a NCAA berth.

I missed the part where the definition of "passive" was changed. You'd think somebody had been labeled a murderer, pervert or, worse yet, politician.

He is a Trey cheerleader, not a BSU fan.

Yes I’m friends with Trey’s father, so what...no I’m anything but a Trey cheerleader, he’s heard my displeasure many times...no I have no relationship with BSU others than following my best friend’s son and his career...yes I have become a BSU fan during this time, and will follow after Trey leaves as I’ve gotten to know these kids. And I think it’s hilarious that you, of all people, would call out anyone for not being a fan. You are without a shadow of a doubt, the most miserable poster I’ve seen on here in 4 years. In 4 years, I could count on one hand, the number of positive things you’ve said about the BSU program, it’s players, or coaches.

I think Trey has had some pretty good games and some really bad games against the better opponents that BSU faces. But I also think that coaching philosophy has a lot to do with some of the complaints of the board. Some complaints that I totally agree with, but he is the coach. Someone up above said about my “we” and “Kentucky”. There are many many many UK fans who bitch and moan about Cal’s recruitment of nothing but upper echelon 5 star players, who leave every year, and then we start over again. But if you are “said 3-4 star” player, why in the hell would you ever want to go to UK and never play? And even if one of our “studs” doesn’t come in and play like a NBA superstar right off the bat, some of our fans ridicule beyond ANYTHING that’s on this board. But I think there’s a great comparison...why would ANY good post player want to come to BSU and play in this style? Others than setting picks for guards at 20 feet, and hiding under the post to pull the interior defender away from the basket, they are never the focal point of an offense. Good players will not come to play that way, so you go get the ones that will. It is what it is until it’s not.

Good players will not come to play that way, so you go get the ones that will. It is what it is until it’s not. Absolutely agree and that is my issue with Coach Whitford. I have said a million times that you can’t play and think like the major programs when we are not. I don’t buy the argument that this is today’s game and we have to play this way. Different is better when you are playing the big boys and recruiting kids with a chip on their shoulder goes a long way. As far as Trey, I am guilty as anyone on here on getting frustrated with his play. I should know better as a coach for many years, you learn to play to the strengths of your players. Trey is a very good passer and defends smaller post players very well and will score against guys that are smaller and not athletic. I tend to focus on his weaknesses which is more a personality trait and not a physical one. Trey plays his role the way he is coached and what is expected of him. This is not on him but a failure of our coach not understanding the difference between us and the teams that consistently win at our level.

I am going to say this first off. If my son grows up to be half as good as a person Trey is I will know I did a great Job raising him. Now about Treys play there are times when it is great and then there are the times he disappears. As pointed out some of this falls on Whit but some blame has to also be put on Trey. We all want the alpha dog in the middle we do not have that and Trey will never be that but Trey has been a good player for player for us. I have said it before wait till next year and we will all be wishing we had a "trey" because Whit has failed in finding any sort replacement for him. Bottom line is this is a fan site we overreact to everything. We could win by 100 and someone would still find something to bitch about. That bitching then snowballs into other bitching etc etc the circle of bitching never ends. So really we all are just a bunch of bitches who love Ball State.

Seriously, you are correct that we’ll probably miss Trey next year. Huggins and Hendrik won’t replace him. Not next year at least. Huggy Bun is out of his league vs players not wearing Delaware St uniforms.
