Yes I’m friends with Trey’s father, so what...no I’m anything but a Trey cheerleader, he’s heard my displeasure many times. When Trey hears your displeasure, what does he hear? I assume you never tell him he's passive. Ever tell him he needs to be more aggressive? More demanding? More physical? Play stronger? I'm assuming you don't because they all kind of fit into the same category. Just curious what else you might see in his game that you find displeasure with, because other than that I think he's a pretty good player.

I'm assuming you don't because they all kind of fit into the same category. Just curious what else you might see in his game that you find displeasure with, because other than that I think he's a pretty good player. Fair question that I will answer accordingly... I look at how exactly Trey is used in Ball State’s scheme and I am critical of things that I know he should be able to control. The very first thing that I get on him the most, that I have voiced both to him and his dad, is his free throw shooting. There is no excuse for Trey to be a career 56% shooter. I think he has adjusted his shot way too much at the line, and has settled on this “rainbow” shot and I don’t understand why. I have watched this young man go thru private workouts, and I know that he can shoot from distance much better than he has shown. Like others, I would love to see him dunk a little more, but that’s never really been his game, and as long as it’s a deuce, I don’t care how he gets it. He passes up too many shots and he gets a little too cute with his passes sometimes that leads to some unforced turnovers...that drives me nuts. When I see his 6’10” ass miss a layup, it riles my temper. Defensively I think he tries to block too many shots which leads to dumbass fouls. But like the assists and blocks that he brings to the game, the turnovers and fouls are gonna find their way in his game too. So do you sacrifice the good to prevent the bad? I do not feel like he needs to be more demanding because Whitford’s style of play tends to be way more guard/perimeter oriented. There are instances where BSU runs the ball thru Trey and Taj, but for the most part it’s a perimeter game. I do feel like he could be stronger in the post both offensively and defensively, but I also feels he’s made a million mile stride in that aspect of his game, because I know what he used to be compared to now.

Trey has developed into a very nice player, literally and figuratively. Very solid contributor who’s had some big games. I totally get that Whit just doesn’t emphasize post play in the manner we think of it, yet I still think Trey is capable of more. And it doesn’t have to be in terms of numbers but rather in terms of presence. Just think he needs to be all of his 6’10 all the time instead of playing like he’s 6’2 sometimes. Especially in big games vs good players. Don’t disappear. Don’t be so nice. Stand your ground. I think that’s the biggest thing for me. That and hit a dang layup. Don’t just awkwardly flip the ball up.
Absolutely agree he gets too cute with passes and turns it over, but generally he is a good passer. Too good in terms of passing up good shots.

really what you just said is everything treys critics have said myself included. I do not think any one here really thinks trey is a bad player. I think some posters post can be pretty abrasive but a lot of that comes from frustration after a loss. I know I have done it and probably will again. Its not just Trey though Tayler gets it and we have been pretty rough on Teague. Mallers and Gunn have been the victims of it lately. Its just the way of a message board though. All I know is Toledo is going to be hard game and we need everyone ready to play

Not that it should have to be said, but you won't find a poster on here that doubts Trey's character.
He is an exceptional young man, which may, by his nature, make him a more passive player. I think I'd rather have that than an overly-aggessive thug that can't stay out of trouble off the court.
Maybe he's not an NBA-level center, but he's definitely a pro-level person.

I was going to post a really snarky reply, but instead I'll be passive. What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is going on here? Did I sleep through the Apocalypse?

48 points in the paint, almost double Toledo. Many games this year have reflected this type of play. Whit now has his full stable of recruits, with two injured and they still slapped a good UT team pretty hard. Credit to coach and every players for bringing their “A” game yesterday. I just hope the active players can make it until the Calvery arrives.
