Boy, this thread has gone off on a tangent. Can someone tell me what the point of this conversation is? Time to move on to OU. I think the point is We lost to EMU because we have no local kids on the team.

Let’s see, I’ll start with downtown with a makers space in the former Cintas building that includes numerous small businesses and Guardian Brewery. Elm Street Brewery is a tremendous new brew pub restaurant also near downtown. The downtown area has also undergone a major renaissance with numerous new small businesses, a new Courtyard Marriott hotel, a new Ivy Tech College building is under construction on High Street. Two former closed factories, Indiana Steel & Wire and Borg Warner are being revived, one as the Kitzleman Clean Energy Park and the other will be the site of a zinc oxide processor. Both will add a couple hundred new jobs. The former Chevy plant, most recently a massive concrete slab eyesore, has been turned into over a hundred new multi unit apartments, with new youth ballparks across the street. Multiple new retail developments have opened in the past two years including a major retail plaza near the Mall with Dicks, McCallisters, etc. On the west end, lots more retail including Five Guys, a new hotel, the old Tonys Lockeroom is reopened as Genos, two new car dealerships. On west and south side, major investments in new sidewalks and medians, four or five new roundabouts, new bike lanes. Greenway rails to trails system expansion by Yorktown east to Muncie. In the healthcare space, IU health and numerous affiliates and non affiliated providers continue to expand such as Meridian Health. This doesn’t even take into consideration the many small to medium size entrepreneurs who are growing in the community. Trust me, we have blight, drug, crime, poverty and local political issues. That is undeniable. But we have lots of success stories going on and again the ticker is trending up IMHO. seems like that dicks sporting goods has been there longer than two years - but thank you for that. it is good to see something positive happening even if it isn't obvious to us when we come to visit for a weekend every few months. we tried to go see a movie but there is only one currently operating movie place in town (however the shows were mostly sold out!) so things like that leave an impression that you might not have if you are involved day to day. I did hear about some new breweries and am excited to check them out when I get back up there. Well since you mention movie theaters.. Yes there is only one but it was recently remodeled.. Get this we have a small Imax screen, reclining seats and it even has a bar.. Its the little things lol

I know the guy that owns that Burger King. Nice guy. On my advice, he had the top 10' of soil removed around the area where the dancefloor and dressing room were. Should be safe to eat there.
