To lose EMU was on the Coach from my view and I stated why in a post earlier.
To get blown out by Ohio at home is beyond pathetic!
Mallers is playing poorly, Teague and Moses didn’t show up!
KJ where were you! Coach likely hurt his confidence playing Nelhs ahead of him last game.
To not be focused after a home loss to EMU is totally unacceptable.
If we don’t make the MAC final I vote for a coaching change

The odd thing about this game is that no one played with much energy throughout the entire game. No one seemed to even act or play as though they cared in the second half, after the awful start in the first half.It was like the whole team just got out of bed and sleep walked for 40 minutes of the game.
Early games have rarely gone well for the Cards. Hopefully they will get their act together and represent the university much better at BG on Tuesday.
Go Cards!

RF That's where you're either dead wrong or just unrealistically positive, because we've come to expect these kinds of games, even on our home floor, in the Whitford era. Face it - we are not a good team. BG will hand us our sacks.

How can you be so flat, unfocused, shoot 8% from 3, etc?!
We need Hazen and Ish bad! We have no depth!
Only Persons and Gunn...yes Gunn showed up!
Embarrassing for a team with this amount of talent to drop two in a row at home to two mediocre teams

Toledo fans called it. Even they knew we’d get shellacked by a mediocre team. Nailed it. Other schools fans know and understand Whits program all too well.

That isn't anything to brag about.

If we don’t make the MAC final I vote for a coaching change I agree, these last 2 home losses are ridiculous. To score 4 points in first 10 minutes of the game is garbage. As far as firing him, I guess it comes down to what the buyout threshold is for the administration. He has 3 years left and I believe makes around $300k a yr. If money wasn't an issue(it is though unfortunately) and this ends up being another lose in MAC quarterfinals type of yr Id absolutely can him. Also these extensions for average to above average seasons going back to Taylor in 2009 have been damaging.

Sweep 10 points and 4-5 boards for 22 minutes off the bench is decent. You should pick your disagreements better.
2nd best performance behind Persons today!
Who was better??

Happy about anything?
Actually the bench with both Gunn and Nehls did reasonably. But with two guys out we don't have numbers, and nobody on the bench is starter quality who can step in and allow us to bench a starter when they don't play well, they are not at that level.
Hazen, or Ish, they are capable of that.
What we need is Persons, Teague, KJ to play well, they are our most talented players. We obviously need more from every starter, for Mallers to find his lost shot, to see Trey shoot the ball down low more in a game like this.
A game like this when nobody shoots and the team play was very poor producing so many turnovers, nobody should have much complaint with the way the bench guys played.
And I'll fight with halftime too. Gunn may have exceeded his level of play in many games this year....Hell, I'll argue with you too Kid, that's how foul the mood...I don't agree about Persons. He missed too many shots in the lane and threw the ball away or lost it too often to say he really showed up. I did not see him take control or lead either. He whined and then used poor judgment playing individual basketball at times.

Gunn is capable of giving us 5-10 points every game. If he gets hot or even just hits a couple threes maybe a little more. The problem with him is hey ends up in the wrong place far too often and does little things that just screw plays up. He is also just lost and confused all the time on defense. The problems seem to be him just not being able to get too or just forgetting where he supposed to be.. If its just forgetting the coaches need to teach him

If its just forgetting the coaches need to teach him That was less true today, I think.
He had more energy and was less hesitant on defense. Wrong sometimes, but he has to take some chances and be active on defense, not wait and react. He'll never be very good playing on his heels. I saw some quick hands and alert play today. And that means he was more often in a place to make a play instead of trailing it and looking the wrong way.
I'd give him a C/C+ on defense today above what I have graded him any game this year. He'll never be better than B.
But that would make him a potential starter if he is on his game offensively. He shot poorly like everyone else today but was more active than he has been on that end of the court too.
Maybe they have lit a small fire under him???
