Ill add since I am at every game and sit in the same seats every game you get to know your neighbors. My group of 10 or so neighbors feel the exact same way as most on this board do. That could be coincidence or maybe my section of seats is more frustrated than every one else.. I do not believe that for one second though

I have been biting my tongue or should I say holding back my fingers from typing but I can't take it any longer. The process is about winning. You are paid to win and to win championships. Six years and Buffalo keeps getting better and leaving us behind and he wants to talk about process. You should always play the right way and what I saw last night does not qualify. Offensive rebounding is effort and heart and we got taken to the wood shed. I saw Mallers consistently get beat off the drive from a dude that only had a right hand. He did not overplay nor did he ever go over the top of the screen. I saw late help which resulted in stupid fouls which resulted in BG shooting a crap load of free throws. I saw a team commit 10 more turnovers to assist and Whitford wants to talk about the process and we played the right way. Pure Bull Shit. His buddy down in Bloomington is getting toasted for saying the same shit. I don't usually agree with Dakich but he is dead on his assessment of Archie Miller and you can put Whitford in that same conversation. Good technical analysis. Whitford would agree. And. You nailed Mallers.
Don't see how you can disagree about everything Whitford says though. Overall this game was much better than Ohio and EMU on any count. Process is the way you get where you want.
My own tastes, I'd like him to say more about what we did wrong. Just intellectual honesty. Not sure coaches today are paid for that. If Whitford wants to improve his post game pressers, he can say that he's paid to win championships, and then throw in a little process coach speak, say that's how he is going to do it, would you would really be happier? You want him to roast Mallers?
Dakich saw a lot of that when he played. How much more "honesty" like that do I want? I don't know.
So, I don't get exactly what you want the coach to say. And how that makes all that much difference either way.
As far as the paying to win championships, by that measure every coach in the league except one is failure every year.
Not that I don't want championships but isn't that easy generality simplistic over statement?

Self absorbed bullshit? You know as well as I do. My family and I are also at every football/basketball game and as many road games we can make it too. Win or lose we are there and we enjoy spending that time together. Thats does not change the product or the fact that that its the same every year across the board. You jumped on the word Nobody and your right lets just change that to most and move along. The guys posting on this board are the diehards of Bsufans and even most of us have accepted the fact this is just going to be another average season I was not speaking of you and your family on that comment. I'm sorry that you took it that way.

I’m not griping about the game. I’m griping about the “we played the right way” so it’s ok attitude from the coach. Don’t say stuff like that after the 3rd loss in a row. Don’t even give the beat writer and fans a reason to say you aren’t results oriented in a results based profession. That is a much better critique, although I don't know what he says makes much difference or makes fans happy. Is that "attitude?" I disagree. It is coach speak, I do agree.

What he says does not make fans happy it very obviously pisses us off though

He could say, we aren’t taking good care of the ball right now and we aren’t moving / sharing it. (Assists and turnovers). Or, we played hard but we still need to do a better job sealing off the glass. ( giving up far too many offensive boards). Or, I was happy with the effort but I’d like to see us play defense more with our feet and less with our hands and quit fouling so much. Or, we played much better than vs Ou, just gotta keep working on stopping dribble penetration. If we get beat then we need the help to recognize it and rotate a step sooner. Or even, once we get more guys contributing we’ll be hard to beat. (Serious lack of production from all but 3 guys.)
You’ve not roasted your team but you’ve given an honest assessment of what you need to keep improving on. It’s not cold and generic like “process.” Or we played the right way” or “we’re fine”.
The die hard Ball state basketball fans are not stupid. We can see what’s really happening on the floor.

We are playing like shit right now and I have to fix it. Its not to late for this team to get it together but its not happening unless something changes quickly. We need health, Inspiration something... I suggest a Rocky MOvie Marathon that usually works wonders around this house

I may have missed a Bob Knight or Gene Keady press conference once or twice though.
The Rocky marathon, that one I just don't believe you, but in today's day, I suppose it's possible.

I agree that its time to win and I'm as disappointed as anyone in three conference losses in a row, particularly two home, but we are playing short handed without Ish and Hazen....this is really hurting us in my view....lets hope both are back in the next few weeks....I still expect us to go 12-6....but its obviously largely dependent on getting these two guys back.
Also, what has happened to Mallers...he's gone MIA when it comes to offense...and I say its time to play Gunn more...his defense is not as good but his offense is certainly more productive for minutes played.

You think we’re gonna go 11-3 the rest of the way?

What and What.. I hear coaches say we played like garbage all the time.(this could be a football thing though as that is where most of statement was coming from) If you can not watch Rocky and be inspred to take a run up some steps or across the beach then shock the world you have no pulse

I hope so Cardfan....I would not bet the house though...I really do think the two out are killing us and I'm not sure where Mallers has gone?
