The General forgot to include The Kid Bias Formula in his Freak Out Factor.
Where the Freak Out Factor = x, The Kid Bias Formula is x2

Kid, it was a meaningless tourney in the freakin Bahamas. You can't put any stock in it.

Cardifan...my earlier post was mainly directed to the General as he was suggesting some impressions based on one game against clearly the weaker team of the two. I simply pointed out that looking at both games may be better!!
We disagree on whether the games were meaningless and the practices also permitted. Without the tournament no extra practices.
U keep being Cardy downer and I will be the kiddy upper!
I'm really going to enjoy this season as this team becomes a winner again.
By the way, while this team did not play an exhibition they did also scrimmage Ray's team!!

Not trying to be a downer, just don't have enough information about this team yet.

Three out of CTG's five top scorers against Ga Tech did not play at all against BSU.
Also wrong. The second team, Providence Storm, allowed 108 vs. Texas Arlington, 115 against UNC Wilmington, 115 against Ga Tech and 96 vs. (I'm not making this up) the Bahamas High School All Stars.
So, no I don't think scoring 80 against them was much of an accomplishment and I discount the individual stats compiled against them. I think I could go for 20 against the Providence Storm.
I think Mills has nailed it, and note that the Kid Bias Formula will never yield a negative number.

I will never forgive the Kid for making me feel like I needed to look up the boxscores of the Providence Storm. Probably the most pointless 10 minutes of my entire life.

Not true that I will not ever yield a negative number...I have said that I'm concerned about the PG position but I also believe that both Davis and Smith have the potential to yield good results.
However, I refuse not to be uplifting and positive when we haven't yet played a game!! If we don't win 15 or more I'll get plenty negative.
It's a shame more folks can't see the glass half full instead of half empty. I don't want to hear about last year...our team played hard and never gave up last year although they were short handed from the beginning. Davis not healthy in the beginning, Tyler lost to grades, Kam hurt, and Z ineligible several games. The point is regardless of the reason this team and coach played short handed all last season.
I'd like to come back to many folks to remind them of their positions once we have 15 or more wins!!!
Then and only then will we know if I was to optimistic

We are Ball State Fans, over the last quarter century BSU Basketball and Football have not done many things to garner alot of optimism. I used to get excited and think we were going to better every year but sadly year after year of shattered dreams has let me fall into the I will believe when I see it fan. After I see it I will then be searching for reasons not to expect the wheels to fall off

We will see the General leading cheers and whipping the other gurus of gloom into tournament frenzy during the next few seasons. You don't conquer the South's brave soldiers without realizing that the darkest night can precede glorious victory!!!!!!!!! Wait a minute. I think I took too many meds this morning.

OK....keyboard abuse beginning in a few more weeks. But I don't want to hear about the cupcake schedule, etc etc.
We have a number of difficult games such as: Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Valpo, Indiana State, Pepperdine, New Orleans, Toledo 2x, Central 2x, Buffalo, and others. Don't underestimate some of these teams...we will win 15 or more!!!

I spent the almost the entire post-Maui portion of Buckley's time living this optimism, especially considering the success that was seen under the prior three coaches. As my optimism faded, I found it coming back with each new coach, only to be extinguished again. I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Whit... I really like him, and I think he knows basketball. But nothing that's happened in the last two years has given me much hope for unbridled optimism. I hope I'm wrong.

Thats cool but if we do get 15 wins do not expect me to be overly excited. The fact that 15 wins would likely be looked at as an acceptable season is sad. This must be what cubs fans feel like. "Next year is going to be awesome" they have been waiting a century now.
