The Texans and BoB continue to make head scratching move after head scratching move

Don't know why they traded for Cooks with such a deep receiver draft. I'm sure Cooks can contribute immediately, but it's gonna cost them.
The Texans are either going to crash and burn (likely) or they're going to explode and make their leadership look like geniuses (way, WAYYYYYY less likely).

You nailed this on cost.
They are paying this guy millions more for a relatively modest likely performance gain. they trade a better guy away for a draft choice because he wants more money and they don't want to extend him early. Now give the draft choice to the Rams for a lesser player who has an extension.
But, even if he plays well they won't look like geniuses.

The more I look at the receivers who would have been available at 13, the more pissed off I get. You can say it's a deep draft at receiver, but the top 3 still have a much better chance of success than any that will still be available in the second round. Most mocks have MANY receivers going in the first and the Colts will be taking the leavings when they desperately need receivers who can get separation and make plays.
The colts are no longer just desperately needing a good #2 compliment to Hilton. That time has now come and gone. Hilton is now over 30 and increasingly racking up injuries. They now desperately need a new #1 AND a decent #2. They are spending top draft capital on interior linemen and trying to cheap out on receivers, which is ass-backwards. This has already hurt and will hurt more in coming seasons. Have you ever heard Rick Venturi's rants about how non-scary the colts receivers are and the detrimental effect on the offense? I don't agree with everything he says, but he is right on with that.

I get what you're saying, and yes the Colts need to address the WR position, but it's hard to take anything a guy who has 3 career wins as a head coach seriously. Listening to him on JMV is like listening to the senile old guy sitting in his rocking chair talking about "back in my day". He and Robin Miller are pretty worthless in my opinion. It's also unlikely the Colts would have gone WR with the #13 pick, unless Jerry Jeudy was there and Javon Kinlaw wasn't. Chris Ballard has said time and again that he builds a team from the trenches outward, and there was a glaring need in the interior D line (not saying the 1000 watt glare at WR isn't there, because we all know and can see that it is). Again, it's up for debate whether or not that is the correct way to build a team, but he's got a philosophy, and so far has proven that he will stick to it. If they don't make the playoffs this year, it's likely his seat will become hotter than an oven on broil, though.

I think the Colts may package the 2 second round picks with a player to move back into the first round.
I'd listen to Venturi and Robin Miller (especially about racing) before taking Greg Doyel seriously. A Jim Rome wannabe without the charm.

Boy, Jerry Juedy would have nicely filled a gaping short term and long term hole

Lots of good WR in draft. They will get a good one.

Michael Pittman jr. is the pick. Pretty good pick up.

Well, I guess we'll see how Pittman compares with Jeudy.

No, see how Buckner compares in the dline. Jeudy would have been great but you can’t draft a pro bowl d lineman coming off a super Bowl. Colts defense needed him. Pittman is not the same kind of wr as jeudy but he gives them the big target they need. Given the Colts luck, if they’d stayed at 13 to get jeudy he’d end up injured all year. If Hilton and Campbell stay heathy this year they’ve got their deep threat and YAC guys to go along with Pittman who be an Ebron with hands. And he can block. Won’t be surprised if colts take a smaller quicker wr later if one is available.

And they’ve added rb Taylor from Wisconsin. Runs. 4.39. They must have different future plans for Mack. They have insurance now for when he gets hurt again.
At any rate they’re adding weapons.

We shall compare the differential between juedy and Pittman to any statistical improvement in the colts defense
This isn't very fair because it's so much easier to effect the game from the wr spot.....which is my point.
