The Colts pick is perfect opposite TY.
If they cover him the way they did last year, the new guy will lead the team in receptions.
In a ball control game the Colts much improved. Last year they lost games where they could not run the clock.
Or, even where they could, could not stop anybody. Buckner will help there. Pressure up front big in forcing late game turnovers, too

I can't believe nobody has trotted out douche-submarine yet. Are you volunteering to be the douche-submarine?

So then exactly how many additional "late game" turnovers are you saying will be the result of Buckner being around? Or if the colts actually receive LESS turnovers in, say, the last 4 minutes, then it's a failure? Or, as is most likely, you are just parroting some BS you heard somewhere and you actually have no idea what you are talking about.

RC is getting that not-so-fresh feeling.

You worry vaguely about the long run and underestimate the players they have.
I am not sure why you think offense is the only thing that counts. This Colts staff doesn't believe they can only win by outscoring everyone.
And, the offense isn't looking so bad to me.
The Colts should be a playoff team for the next few years and their long term future is dependent on getting a good QB down the road. NOT available this year. I did not see draft picks this year that would have improved them in the next few years more than this trade and draft.

How the 2018 draft SHOULD have gone down.
1) Colts trade #3 overall pick to the Browns instead of the Jets 2) Acquire Browns second round pick #35 in trade 3) Draft Bradley Chubb with the #4 overall pick 4) Draft Nick Chubb with the #35 overall pick 5) Give all Colts fans a half-chubb with their newly minted All-Chubb Team 6) ? ? ? 7) Profit
Now THAT is how you douche-post!

I'd bet the Colts make the playoffs for sure this year if there is a year.

The Colts pick is perfect opposite TY. If they cover him the way they did last year, the new guy will lead the team in receptions. On the other hand, he may go into the first game as the 4th receiver on the roster, which is about what you would expect from the 8th WR taken in the draft. If you read the quotes about Pittman from training camp, you quickly get that trying-to-stay-positive vibe. Keep in mind that the colts could have had Jerry Jeudy.

He does look like the 4th guy as the season starts. He's behind 3 guys who are pretty good. TY the only one really proven.
Both rookie receivers were highly rated, Colts went with a bigger body. I don't see the "vibe" you get. Their pick had a pretty typical rookie camp while Jeudy apparently had a really good camp. 6-8 weeks of camp and perfect hindsight may or may not make him the higher performer over a career.
The biggest negative about the Colts receivers is that the TE they were counting on as a receiver is on the bench.
It looks like the Colts receiver pick from last year from tOSU may turn out to be the biggest beneficiary of TY drawing attention this year. Everybody surprised at their early choice of a RB but it does look like they will again be pretty strong and I think that is why Campbell is expected to flourish on play action.

The Trey Burton situation shows the extent to which the Colts have cheaped out on their receiving corps in favor of lavishing a huge amount of draft capital and money on interior linemen.
Burton was released by the Bears, and the colts WERE in fact counting heavily on him.
I contend that the colts would be better off putting their resources into the receiving corps and using Bears rejects on the interior line.
But maybe Buckner will do for the defense what the 1st-round-pick-laden offensive line did for the offense. Let's see....colts had the 20th ranked offense and a 7-9 record.

WilliamTSherman 4/24/20: "Boy, Jerry Jeudy would have nicely filled a gaping short term and long term hole"

Normally I would be pissed about the game today. Not anymore. I won’t support a league that honors violent criminals and has a separate anthem for black people. They can 100% get behind BLM if they want, but I don’t want any part of that awful organization. Who thought that would be a good idea? Get woke, go broke.
