My level is at a 3. I don't care for the type of play (Harden dribbles between his legs for all but 2 seconds of the shot clock and then fires it up) nor do I of the wokeness or players wanting to play with each other. I lost some of it when Steve Kerr flapped his jibs about the president but wouldn't comment on China because of their $4b deal with the NBA. I do not feel guilty about the wokeness part because I suspect I'm not really their market anyway so it's all cool. This is an actual picture of me talking about the NBA.

Then this happens...
Cancel the rest of the season. Go home. Drop the political statements from sports. It makes them unwatchable.

Y'all I think Nate McMillan was a visionary. He knew the season wasn't going to be finished, he knew the boycott was coming, and he decided to get his team out of the bubble as quickly as possible. And what quicker way than a 4-game sweep!?
Man's a genius and he got tarred and feathered for being smarter than everyone else!

Good defense. Good effort by his teams. Did reasonably well with the talent available, but the criticism of his offense is fair enough. Decision by Pacer office to keep two centers questionable. Didn't help him
Need more 3's more open court for this team to go past one round.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the next broadcast contracts for the NBA. These tantrums are costing the networks a fortune, and they won't forget it. I can see a huge drop in the next go-around of rights fees. The NBA commish won't do anything. He's a puppet for the players union.

The NBA has turned itself into a clownish, one-sided partisan political advocacy group, and is apparently now standing on a ledge threatening to commit suicide.
Jump, NBA, jump.

But here is something that will really hurt. THE WNBA HAS ALSO STOPPED PLAYING GAMES!
Oh no! Please, please, please play! We'll let sex assault felons not be arrested if they don't want to be! We'll do anything, but please keep playing those WNBA games! Please please please!

Jump, NBA, jump. It's not just the NBA. All the other professional leagues are/will line up behind them.

Who is Rachel Nichols?
I will say, though, that RBG was one of those unique individuals that whether you agreed or disagreed with her, you had to respect what she had accomplished. She was one tough old broad.

And, I don't know who Rachel Nichols is, but criticizing the NBA players for being myopic and inconsistent is probably not out of line. Still asking NBA players to champion women's rights and to educate the NBA audience seems an NBA size stretch.

It should be a stretch to celebrate criminals while denigrating police, but hey, it's their funeral. NBA ratings are cratering. That misunderstands their point. They are not celebrating any acts of the victims or the character of those victims. They are criticizing what they see as excessive violence against black men. Wrongful violence of the police officers is not excused by any past acts of those men.
Protest against excessive police violence by itself would be quite appropriate, and it would not "denigrate police" who should not defend excessive force.
Black athletes are understandably focusing her on the racial element they see. At this point it is not about the individual wrong done to the black men who were killed. But the images on the news are part of the emotional reality for black Americans who fear police and are angry at the perceived wrong, often angry at very real racism they have encountered.
