I think MTSU is a far better choice.

Western Kentucky & Middle Tennessee would be great additions to the MAC. Why not? The MAC needs more directional schools.
Louisiana Tech is a bit far for the MAC, but they have a really good football tradition. Would hope they don't get hung out to dry as an independent.
I wish the MAC could wrangle Liberty and JMU as a Virginia core. I think Liberty has aspirations of being the evangelical BYU or Notre Dame and conference affiliation for football may not be their goal.

ODU more South, anyway. Sun Belt better for them.
Does the MAC really appeal accept in the Midwest?

The MAC lets players play close to home. In terms of the modest consumer appeal the MAC has, they have access to a fan base where there is appeal with alumni, a large number of mid major students stay close to home.
The raw quality of the product is just not competitive with major conferences, and has never been and never produced much revenue. What kills us is the cost of competing with the big guys when we try to maintain FBS status on that small revenue stream.

Agree, it would be nice to see the MAC be aggressive in going after WKU and MTSU,

Belmont is leaving the OVC for the Missouri Valley. My guess is they are building their program with an eventual goal of the Big East. They have rocketed right by us. Belmont would beat us 10 out of 10 times for the last 10 years. No doubt about that!

MWC should pick up UTEP, and add New Mexico State.
LaTech and FIU could make the Sun Belt 16.
