We are 1-3 with the very real possibility of the worst case scenario 1-5 start staring us dead in the eyes. Sad thing is we could be 3-1 Talent is there as it has been for a few years now.
WMU really hurt. NIU is must win. 4 or 5 wins for the season it appears.

Coaching matters, fellas. Different sport, but when Majerus took over a lousy team his first year they went .500. Any other coach other than super elite guys would have struggled to win double digits.
When you graduate your 5th & 6th year seniors and your starting QB (who was lousy last year) and you're playing the next batch of guys, it's coaching that makes the difference between 4-8 and 6-6. I love Mike and he's as Ball State as you can possibly be but they still make some calls and decisions that are just head scratchers in year seven. He's also insanely loyal, IMHO, which is great if you're a veteran or a long-tenured coach but not so great if you're trying to win games. Just feels like we are rarely the dominant or superior team and only if our opponent is truly anemic.
Are we a terrible team? If we go 4-8 or worse then yes, we are.

Terrible is somewhere between that and what we saw when Letterman featured our weekly losses, and they just kept coming.

Losing twice as many games as you win is terrible. You never stop. |
