Can any of us blame them for leaving if their not playing? I think what is worse is the QB situation we heard how great these guys are & we sign them & two yrs later they have not gotten in a game. I think we will lose 2 of the 3 currently 2 thru 4 on the depth chart.

Another entertainment filled morning with my coffee reading the posts. I actually saw them for the first time (not counting the drubbing at TN). Don't know what to think acy=tually.
Looks like the drubbing at TN was not out of the ordinary, and it should have been closer. They are #1 in the playoff scenario currently.

Had we played a cleaner game we could have competed a little bit. Never were going to beat them or anything like that, but we could have maybe made them earn it a bit more.

TN is nothing but expected. The killers are WMU and Eastern conference games we had won. That being said we can belly ache complain bitch all we want now but if we look back preseason. Most all of us said we would be happy with this. Some of us even said with this squad if we make a bowl it should be looked at as the staffs best coaching job

In retrospect UT was probably the best team in the country when we played them. While there is the usual bias of pessimism on this forum, this team has stepped up to be a pretty good team. They seem to never give up and are playing to a pretty high level at times. Sure there is still room for improvement in terms of turnovers and penalties. As noted, time management could be better. With a few breaks this team could be 6-3 or 7-2. That would explode some heads on this thread! Three or four more games. Could be interesting.

This upcoming game will be the first midweek MACtion game in the Glass Bowl on ESPN since 2001. 2014 vs. Mizzou, and 2008 vs. Colorado were non MACtion bouts more recently.
Couldnt be bigger.

The passing game is still suspect. Needs much improvement to be able to give Steele a better chance,. He's killing it now, but wow is he taking (and giving) a beating.

We were picked last for a reason. But now we can look back at the 3 games we've flat out blown and wonder how good we actually COULD have been. Either we're a much better team than expected, even with all our flaws, or the competition isn't as good as expected. Either way, I like where we're at. Just gotta finish it.

As far as being a "pretty good team" that's not so clear. A pretty good team would have won at least 1 and probably 2 of 3 games we've seen them lose. They have yet to play well both 1st and second half.
This game they revived after a quarter, and that is one of the things that might give us some encouragement. Right now I think they are what we thought they would be, maybe better than the pessimists expected it is true.

It's another sad day if we're already talking about losing to Kent State. If we can remove our head from our ass on offense it’s a winnable game but if we play like we have been we’re dead. Kent has the best offense in MAC as well as our D has been playing Kent’s going to score. Surgery for the head removal went well. Doctor has no idea whether or not it might recur in the next three weeks. Radio announcers made comments about how depleted our offensive line was and then Boggs came out of the game. Didn't get to watch, but sure is a good win, as they all are.

I’m going to try and not think about next year, but appreciate the privilege of getting to watch Steele bulldoze the opposition over the past two years in a Ball State Cardinals uniform. If he happens to move on to greener pastures next year, congrats to him. He deserves to play in big time college football games. Here’s to hoping he and the defense can continue to carry us on their back to a bowl and *maybe* something more?

Reminds me of guys who carried the mail for us back in the 80\90s. True workhorses.

I think we will lose 2 of the 3 currently 2 thru 4 on the depth chart. Totally agree. We've all said Neu is too loyal, but with Paddock having not really previously played you would have thought they would all have been on equal terms, initially. The other part of that, and I didn't look, but Blazek, has been listed ahead of Kelly all year and he has less experience with the "system". We spend a lot of hype on the recruits, especially the QB's the last couple of years.
