Unless he also wants that challenge of seeing if he can do it. Which is exactly the kind of dude he is Yeah, I can see that, too. Athletes do like that perceived challenge. I just think he might end up disappointed. I think the type of numbers he could put up over the next two years as he grows with the O-line could be record-breaking. Does he want to rush for 200 yards a game at BSU (right, that's pushing it but you know Neu/Lynch will feed him the ball), or does he want to rush for 53 yards a game at Purdue, or Iowa? Do you want to be a BSU immortal? Or do you want to be the topic of some bar conversation 2 decades from now, like "Who was that blond-haired guy who was a RB for the Hawkeyes in the mid-2020s?"

Guys thought he would leave last year. He will get his chance at the next level if he continues to produce. That's the big prize, not NIL. I think he stays. I think he gets a shot at the next level whether he stays or goes elsewhere. Can't imagine he'll be a high draft pick. Late round or FA.

In a pre season interview Steele answered why he came to Ball State. He said that other major schools were seriously looking at him particularly IU. He was then injured and IU then quit calling. Nue and staff did not quit on him and Steele said that he is forever great full for the opportunity to be a Cardinal. I know things change over the seasons but if he is still around when and if we play IU God help them.
