Last night's game was a nod to the heritage of Indiana basketball. Muncie Central and Milan, Daleville and Anderson etc. also the movie Hoosiers. Kent State, the bad guys bullies of the MAC vs. play basketball the right way Cardinals. We won in spite of some serious doubts of getting blown out by Kent. I didn't think we would win but we did with decnet defense and great rebounding. Carry had sorta of an off night but those 3s that he hit were a thing of beauty. This was a great win but this wasn't Milan vs. MC. Kent is a really good MAC team and we have similar enrollments and both have good rosters. Their bench is better than ours top to bottom but your examples are all David & Goliath tales. This was nothing like that. |

Cary had an off night cause we bullied the ultimate bully. He was able to get by us but we had help near the rim which caused him to take circus shots My take on Carry is that he's a pretty sneaky scorer who lulls you to sleep. I don't think he cares much for playing defense the right way (lots of grabbing and pushing), nor does he like being played physically by defenders. I agree on his scoring but we watched different games on his defense. I think he's the best defensive on-ball guard in the league. He completely shut down Jacobs in the first half and we know how super athletic and quick DJ is. It was impressive. |

My take on Carry is that he's a pretty sneaky scorer who lulls you to sleep. I don't think he cares much for playing defense the right way (lots of grabbing and pushing), nor does he like being played physically by defenders. I agree on his scoring but we watched different games on his defense. I think he's the best defensive on-ball guard in the league. He completely shut down Jacobs in the first half and we know how super athletic and quick DJ is. It was impressive. Yes, and he accomplishes it by pushing and bumping hard. He gets by with murder. |

It's only a foul if the officials call it. Otherwise it's great defense. The most effective defenders are those that learn to take every inch of what the officials are going to give them. Sounds like cheating but if the officiating is going to let you do it ... and you want to win ... you take it. There's no honor system here. |

Stallings was the most physical on the ball defender we have ever had. I personally think he was better than Nichols, who was damn good. Had to bring back the glory days. 😂 |

I think we wore him down. Carry did not have the same energy or intensity to start the second half on defense. Kent kept punching, but that Sellers run to start the last 20 was stunning and it took some of their will. I wish Jaylin could be that guy more often. If he is your Alpha and Boogie is the Beta we are waaaay more dangerous. That pecking order would give us a better shot of winning three in Cleveland.

No doubt that Muncie Central in 1954 was a talented team but Milan was also as they were in the final four in 1953 and belonged.

Totally agree, but I just don't think we're doing anything along those lines. There have been a lot of changes within the athletic department in the last year or so and without an AD, I'm not sure anyone seems to be doing anything nor has any idea what to do. It's a pretty sad ship right now and at a time when we could really be doing somethings to get more people on board. |
