Question? Aren’t the first 4 seeds basically settled? And if so, does it make sense to put 3-4 of our players on the floor or go with the bench more so we go into Cleveland full strength? Toledo would clinch the #1 seed with a win. If Kent wins and Toledo loses on Friday I believe Kent will be the 1 seed based on head-to-head tiebreaker. They only played once this year and Kent won. I'm not sure who I'd rather see in the tournament. I kind of wrote off Toledo after we beat them in Toledo, so I'd been hoping Kent and Akron would be together on the other side of the bracket and we could get Toledo in the tournament. Toledo has been beating the tar out of everyone for the past two months though, so no matter where we land we're in for a tough road. Additionally, if Akron beats Kent State they will be the #2 seed because they will have swept the head to head series. Akron can go no higher than #2 given that they are currently 2 games behind Toledo. Really, the only seed in the whole tournament that is set is #4. Us. Isn't the bench part of full strength? We aren't deep enough to do that. Unless there are first round upsets (which there often are - hopefully not US!) we'll have to face and beat two of the three (Kent, Toledo, Akron) in order to win the tournament. Maybe facing Kent/Akron in the semi-final would mean a smaller crowd for them in Cleveland than the for the final? Just babbling.

Id bench every I could vs Toledo or start them each half let em play few minutes and get them out OTOH, as rational as this is to do, I would also like to win on senior night and please a big crowd... What a dilemma.

I'd take Toledo in a heartbeat over Kent or Akron. Defense usually trumps offense in tournaments.

Id bench every I could vs Toledo or start them each half let em play few minutes and get them out Coach Knight used to bench his starters if the regular season conference championship was all wrapped up. With Coach Lewis being a Knight product, I'm guessing he will follow suit since we are locked in at #4.

Did spectacularly tank a game at Minnesota to make a point. Might have started a bench player senior... Upperclass players a very big deal at IU.

I believe you should always play to win. There are 6 days from Friday until the first game of the MAC tournament the following Thursday. No classes and plenty of time to rest.
Go Cards!

Trying to make up my mind what to wear. Had the sweatshirt in my avatar that I bought at Fricker’s on my way to the MAC Championship game in Toledo - I think the Cards won. Forget the year 90’s maybe. Thought I’d wear it to the game Saturday. The theme of the tournament in Toledo was that the MAC Championship goes through Toledo - this Friday it goes through UT! Go Cards!!!
The internet. It was 1995 at Savage Hall. Cards beat Easter by seven. Steve Payne was MVP.

After the WMU loss, Lewis seemed to comment that he let up on the team in the days prior to the game, and that was a mistake. Seemed to say the team didn't respond well if they weren't coached hard. Even with the recent injuries, I think he keeps the pedal to the metal.

We've lost 3 straight on the road and 3 of the last 4. Losing is never acceptable especially now. We need some momentum and confidence before we head to Cleveland.

The two Michigan losses were really upsetting. Shows the team hasn't grown like he had hoped. The other games were against top tier competition. I have liked how they have played for the most part and I believe can be competitive in Cleveland.
I'm guessing most of us would vie bee pleased per-season to see how hard this team is playing against the top teams. Just have to finish games like they did against Kent. It will be interesting if we get back to full strength.
