Let me understand, with the new transfer rules, teams like Ball State are now upper level Junior College programs for the rich and powerful? Sad day for college sports. Lewis, like many other coaches come to a Ball State to build a resume or turn a program around? Not sure how you do this in this new world of college sports. Kids come in, show they may have the talent for a BIG time program and move on after a year or two to maybe fill the need of an IU? A Ball State scrambles to fill a need! Can they, after taking a kid that excelled, fill those gaps? Not sure. Not sure you rebuild a Ball State to the sweet sixteen level ever again! We, and schools like us, are now nothing more than a glorified JUNIOR COLLEGE for basketball talent. Sad. Sad. Sad.

Per Michael Lewis from Yahoo Sports interview: He even called some of what goes on now "ridiculous" and joked that "if (everyone) knew all the ins and outs (of recruiting), they probably wouldn't be as big a fan of college athletics right now."

Unless Woodson brings in another big with Sparks, Sparks will play. Might not start over the 5 star kid, but he will play. rumor is there going after a 7 foot transfer from Virginia, don’t know what that will do for paytons time, but just throwing it out there

Something tells me he is going to regret this decision.

Good scouting report above. I think he can play on offense, but without being the go to post man he could be in the MAC. His rebounding and passing give him a chance to play, along with punishing smaller players when he gets a favorable match up.
But. Unless he learns to anticipate play and react quicker, issues on defense will be a problem. He will have to stay on the opposing center and hope to push him away from the basket and will be in big trouble if he switches on one of the good PF players in the B10.

I'd agree, pretty accurate.

As much as I despise IU, I am happy for the guy. Hope it works out.

With the portal, coaches are supposed to be loyal to the players that join their program. They are supposed to develop them as players and instill appropriate values in them as young men. However, players apparently do not have to display that same loyalty.

Not a program outside the power conferences will ever again reach the sweet 16 or final 4. BSU might as well give it up. www.cnn.com/2023/03/18/sport/march-madness-shock-results-spt-intl/index.html

It helped with some of the bracket busting. It wasn't a key for us, but then we didn't make the grade?

Lewis will not be on the first train out of Muncie because that is where all the flowers have gone where girls have picked them everyone.

Coaches could easily move while players couldn’t. I don’t love the portal in its current form but I get it. Our coaches will just have to learn how to be successful with it.
