The first thing Mike should change, baring firing the OC, is to take over the play calling. At the very least this needs to happen. I'd prefer he take over the offense and remove the OC. The defense can get the job done. Mike needs to see to the offense personally. Do you really thinks this solves anything? Mike has called the plays before and it was the same old boring, predictable crap. Mike's problem is that Mike is super stubborn and just not willing to pivot. I liked him much, much more as a player than as a coach. He actually reminds me of Whitford a ton these days. Lots of coach speak, stuff that nobody is buying, zero community, campus, or fan engagement, way overhyped recruiting, very little to no player development, fundamentals, or discipline, and a horrible product. I was thinking of the whitford comparison today. I think the much smaller crowd for a MUCH better team in Ga. Southern than ISU really tells you all you need to know about what people think. People are tired of mediocre, just as they got tired of the Whitford act. it even took a half to really start dominating a bad ISU team playing it's 4th string QB. When you fall that flat there's just no way to project future success. Especially with a really bad offense.

Didn't we win the MAC when Mike called the plays? We need to go back to that the rest of the year. Fire the OC now. Mike makes $650k living in Muncie, IN. That's a pretty sweet gig if you ask me. If he wants to keep that, he knows what he needs to do now for any chance.

After watching that presser, Neu may not give them the chance to fire him. Another loss like that, and he may resign.
He looked defeated, and not just in the score. That was the look of a man who has had enough.

Mike’s OC as a 4-year BSU starter was Bill Lynch, 90-93. And, as has been discussed, Mike’s very loyal. Would think these are two factors regarding where he’s at today. As HC, Mike’s only two OC’s at BSU have been Bill’s sons. I’d also think, given these factors, that Mike will soon call plays again.
Would love to see Kelly move to QB1 or receiver.
Would love to see more Spegal.
On D, more attack - blitzing.

What I took from the press conference was that there is dissention on the team in the direction it is going. As noted he did not give any specifics. Maybe he just meant they are upset at their performance, but I read more into his comments than that.

So, does everyone think that this bye weekend will help BSU prep for the first MAC game?
