There was no intensity from the start.. Team barely going through the motions . It felt like every point GA scored was another Nail in the coffin. If you have not find the press conference you can here it in his voice its a tough watch

He seemed near a breakdown the whole time. Mike is one of my favorite Cardinals ever. I feel bad for him. I know he wants the program to be where it once was. But, unless there's a miracle MAC season ahead, we really really need to replace him and the entire staff and start over. (I do like Stockton, our defense has been pretty solid and just can't stay on the field so long because of our archaic and inept offense)

Yes I saw the press interview and he was clearly shaken and just seemed lost and defeated which he was. He had no solid answers how to fix it. Absolutely no confidence going against Western. We have stated several times that the rest of the football world has left us far behind as we continue to plod along with predictable play calling etc. That QB from Akron and that team put it all on the line. Look at the current MAC QBs most of them can run like Bambi. We have one but with no imagination on ow to use him set him up for failure. He should have been the QB from the start without the Semonza, Hatcher pondering until he proved that he couldn't get the job done. We have to come up with a scheme/plan against Western that gives our guys confidence and hope. If not the staff will lose the team maybe they already have. The team not ready to play Sat. may have been the lack of faith in the game plan knowing that they were going to get rolled over.

One other thing. The press conference was in the Indy Sunday Star. Wonder how many potential recruits saw it or whatever fans we have left.

If Neu goes, please make sure Lynch goes with him. Agree. No more Lynchs please.

Agree. They look like they have a plan. A plan? What is that? We haven’t mounted any kind of challenge today and that is really disappointing and embarrassing. Semonza has looked terrible so how’s about we let Kelly give it a go?

The first thing Mike should change, baring firing the OC, is to take over the play calling. At the very least this needs to happen. I'd prefer he take over the offense and remove the OC.
The defense can get the job done. Mike needs to see to the offense personally.

The defense can get the job done. Mike needs to see to the offense personally. Totally agree. I was excited when Mike was hired. I thought he'd bring a gunslinger up tempo offense in based on how he loved getting the chance to throw the ball in college (he had to hand off a lot in Schudel's offense, but we had an oline.) and his Arena football coaching experience. And yet.... Did he learn nothing watching Drew Brees operate? Our QBS don't develop and that was the one position I thought he'd have nailed down from the start. But, I think if he took over play calling now, with his job on the line, he'd open things up and try to get defense off balance a little. We don't do that at all at this point. We have no clue what to do with our most talented playmaker on offense. We should have installed an offense designed to take advantage of everything he can do instead of the stale, pro style drop back, pocket passing, run between the tackles on first and second down offense. Every defense now knows what plays we'll call for Kelly and they no longer work. We try to run them out of our normal offense and it's round hole, square peg. I do like trying to throw to him. He can make some things happen in space if we can get him to ball. And no, NOT that damned bubble screen that always seems to be poorly schemed and executed and gets nothing. Get him in pass routes. Try to get him isolated. I'm glad we got Cooper, but if the oline can't open holes for him he can't get anything. And we don't throw to him and I recall him saying he chose BSU because he would be "used better" than he was at Kent. Ooops. So far I like Barfield better. We just.... we just don't have a good scheme and it's not well executed on top of that. It's really hard to see us being competitive the rest of the way as bad as the offense is, unless major changes occur. And even then, we have a QB problem. Again. And that's a bad problem to have.

Neu won’t fire Lynch. He’s too soft.. He fired Elson when the D was a disaster, but there was always the "rumor" that he was forced to fire him. But, a Lynch is different. A Lynch is a favor to the family.....

Mike has called the plays before and it was the same old boring, predictable crap. Mike's problem is that Mike is super stubborn and just not willing to pivot. I liked him much, much more as a player than as a coach. He actually reminds me of Whitford a ton these days. Lots of coach speak, stuff that nobody is buying, zero community, campus, or fan engagement, way overhyped recruiting, very little to no player development, fundamentals, or discipline, and a horrible product.

And that presser was brutal to watch. But also, zero details or any info of any meaning, which is typical of Mike as a head coach here.
