I have read on HawkTalk blog for Miami that they think that they can raise three to four million a year for the football team's use in the NIL. They came up with the figures hearing that is what Tulane has been raising to play in their league. Any indication BSU is going to try something to raise NIL money for FB?

Our donors do not include enough high net worth FB fans.
The bird seed collective is a tough sell.

I believe he has to play 4 years to collect the $8M Oh my gosh, that's terrible. To force a kid to commit to a school for four years and forgo an early entry into the NFL for a paltry $8M. By his junior year he could be worth twice that much to another college or be making much, much more in the pros. I'd advise the kid to hold out for a better deal.

Interesting note from Max Olsen of The Athletic. He says in 2023 of the 186 players who moved up to P5 from G5 72% saw fewer snaps & 37% did not start a game. But if it's all about money does it matter to the players if they sit?

Some of the G5 players that jump to P5 for NIL $ or ambition to play for a P5 team have a rude awakening about playing. Greed and chasing bigger stage may ultimately cost them more $ or a chance at the NFL.

So THEY must think I have a pretty good chance to play and contribute, otherwise why would they put out the money? If they're willing to bet on me, why wouldn't I bet on myself? And besides that, I've noticed that money is useful. Who can blame a kid for that sort of sensible reasoning?

And why would the P5 school pay for a kid to sit the bench?
When you've got money falling out your ass, it's worth a few bucks to hoard the best players so those lowly G5 schools don't upset you in the tournament (looking at you, Purdue).

He will start as a true freshman; and 2. He will someday play in the NFL. Not sure how many are savvy enough to say “I’m better off getting paid in school b/c it’s unlikely I’ll make it in the Show.” So those looking for the most $ will find it at a P4 school - they just may never see the field.

I wonder if anyone has asked Letterman, Jim Davis and Oprah Winfrey’s long time boyfriend, etc. I find in a lot of situations no one simply asks!

There are a lot of BSU grads with a greater net worth than him. What has he done? Other than writing a few books he's Oprah's arm candy. He did master's work at BSU, not undergrad and would more likely give to Hardin-Simmons where he played basketball.
