You've got Fred and Mabel who've had these same tickets at Worthen since it opened. Big BSU supporters but maybe on more of a fixed income now and don't give what they used to. Now you've got new alums Brian and Jessica, owners of a growing tech firm, who want to give a considerable amount much more than Fred and Mabel are giving, AND they'd really like those seats Fred and Mabel have been sitting in? Or hell, maybe it's just Jimbo and Kathy. No prior relation to BSU but they really enjoy sports and their HVAC business has taken off and they'd like to be a part of the program at a level Mable and Fred can't begin to imagine. You've got no suites to put them in. What you gonna do with these new high rollers? Mitchell's getting flak here for not openly addressing NIL. Well, maybe this is part of a plan to cater a little more to the potential big spenders.

What about Harley and Lurleen with their booming opioid resale business?
How about we set up a system by which those that provided the NIL for that game's starting line-up get to divide up the 20 best seats in the house?

I get it Im not arguing but bud and ethell are pissed Well, sad part is money rules all and new money has the possibility of growing more and lasting longer than old money. Bud and Ethel will die soon and if they're pissed for the last 10 years of their life, I think gold ole BSU will live with that ... as long as they haven't bequeathed their entire estate to the university.

That's the problem. But, it's not the whole estate, there's gold in those estate plans that give equal shares to surviving kids to charity including BSU.
Those old alums, you keep happy, as they get to that point where they have more money than they quite know what to do with, they start thinking about those happy days at BSU and how well the athletic department treated them.

As I have stated earlier, I will not be renewing my season tickets. Had season tickets all but one year in the past fifty years. Seen enough losing seasons. Will never forget 2008. Saw some good years in the 70’s - 2000. I will make homecomings as that’s where my wife and I got back together and got married over forty years ago. Hope Card fans see some good decades soon!

Not sure if this link has been posted, but it breaks down the NIL collectives by school. I apologize if it has. The gap between the "haves" and "have nots" will only widen with each year.

My question with NiL is, can a player go to a school as a non-scholarship player receiving NIL and not count towards the scholarship limit of 85 players? If this is true, than you will once again see the Power 4 schools with 120+ players on their rosters.

I would prefer that ALL NIL money be diverted to basketball until all basketball needs are met.

I would prefer that ALL NIL money be diverted to basketball until all basketball needs are met. Thats hard if not impossible because if it is an individual donor they are typically sport specific a football dude is going to want his money spent on football and vice versa

Thats hard if not impossible because if it is an individual donor they are typically sport specific a football dude is going to want his money spent on football and vice versa Good point this is not after all a budget decision by the AD, it is a decision by the NIL collective group's administration and at their discretion. They "recruit" money and no doubt promise it will be spent consistently with the interest of the source of the money.
Maybe it's not an issue of "diverting" the money from intended use, but rather changing the intention of the source of the money at the margin, the AD and BB program along with the boosters "recruiting" some of that FB interest and "converting" it to interest in BB?
FB is undeniably a money pit and that NIL money is not likely to "boost" our program into a MAC power.
