The best thing for Kelly is to transfer to Toledo and become another Finn ( I think that was his name) Finn is tge prime example A really athletic kid with a very string arm that did not know how to correctly use it.. He was a terrible thrower his first couple years but he got better each year. He did because Toledo said we are committing to you and he got tge snaps needed to improve. They said your the qb and rolled with it through the good and bad.. BSU took kelly and put him on scout team No snaps at qb, then a move to Wr again limited snaps.. Then third string no snaps until he was the starter. It had been nearly three years since he had a full week of snaps when he was inserted into the last six last year. He still managed to win a couple and have us in a couple. No one will ever know what might have happened if things were handled different but if they dont play him in the vast roll they told us all tgey were going too then this time they flat out lied to him his parents and us. I love this staff as people but they butchered this scenario they should have just let him go.. Now Im not anti semonza in any way I think he is going to be really good maybe special and like I said I have a weird feeling we might be better than I expect this year. I hope that plays out

RM...I truly believe we will win 6 or possibly 7; the fact that we have a solid offensive line should be the difference maker.

Same line as last year are they going to be that much better I agree the OL will be better, but am concerned about our limited RB options. If we can't run the ball effectively, the pro-style offense doesn't work very well with the passing game.

The transfer Rb we got is a stud and TJ Horton is one of our fastest players. We have Pemberton to run between the tackles. I think we’ll be ok at running back.

Same line as last year are they going to be that much better They may not be a lot better. They are likely to be used better. I'm not sure we know how good they can be if plays are mixed up and we have passing attack.
It was hard to look really good when they were so predictable.
Even with Kelly. The relative success with Kelly wasn't a result of a baked in preseason team plan, but a rather hasty conversion to an offense that was less predictable only because Kelly created options, and not so much because the different offense was that well suited to the OL schemes.
I am sympathetic that loss of receivers hampered Neu's plans on offense, and hope we don't see that this year. That put a lot burden on the line supporting the plays we had left. Not excusing the lack of imagination we had, but certainly both injury and mindset made everyone on the offense look bad.

If we can't run the ball effectively, the pro-style offense doesn't work very well with the passing game. Check out the interviews on IG and X and you get a sense that the coaching staff feels good about the position. To summarize: Pemberton and Sloan have been match-up problems for the defense...Sloan can be lined up everywhere and Pemberton's size (6'1/240) and power is what you'd expect to see from a RB in a pro-style offense.

Whatever might have been, Kelly, in this interview, seems committed to the new plan. And to the coaching he's now getting.
Even with his talent, how easy will this be?

Are you suggesting that a promise was made and is not being kept? I mean you heard the same things heading up to camp that we all we did.. Kelly heard the same things,, None of it was hidden We'll probably never know everything, but as the plan changed you gotta wonder how Kelly was involved in the decision, when and how it all went down. As fans nobody owes us or has to keep us in the loop. Kelly and other players, that's different. That wasn't done in the press.

As fans nobody owes us or has to keep us in the loop. Good old blind allegiance. No. Not at all. But,
I don't think the coach needs to or owes a duty to make public the discussions he has with players or coaches about team matters.
What exactly do you think a coach owes the fan base in terms of involving them in personnel decisions, strategy, injury status of players and any number of other things that coaches just do not usually share outside the team, sometimes just shared among the coaching staff.
In this case, if he is asked by the press why, after making an announcement of plans, he changed the plan, that's a fair question and he should give an answer, but I'd expect any coach to respond with coach speak and pretty general reasons. NOT detailing everything in any specific discussions with the player.
