I'm interested to see who replaces Grigson. There's no way Irsay makes this move without a hard Yes from somebody waiting in the wings, be that Manning or somebody else.

I'm willing to give Irsay some credit here. He set aside his ego and realized that his chosen GM was a failure....something I doubted he could do. I saw recently where several teams have no starting members of their defensive front seven ranked as low as the Colts highest ranked front seven player. You can say this and that about Grigson's various hits and misses, but all uncertainty about his overall results should end when you consider that front seven situation.
I don't think he has someone definite in the wings...why wouldn't he have already announced them? He obviously has been trying to land the replacement (e.g. Peyton) but it hasn't worked out. I'm prepared to cut him some slack and see where things go. My main fear at this point would be that he makes a hire primarily for affirmative action reasons. I fear that the praise he knows he would get for this from many quarters will be an attraction that he can't resist. |

Grigson out, Pagano stays.
I can only deduce from this that Irsay truly believes that Grigson was behind the "fake punt" play all along.

Pagano isn't safe. Irsay talked out of both sides of his mouth like he usually does.
I could wreck my car, sit on a pile of dog poop and get sprayed by a skunk and I'd still feel good knowing Grigson is no longer affiliated with the Colts. He was a straight up Grade A piece of shit and he won't be missed.

You can tell by the reaction of players that Grigson was despised. That Irsay needed to bring in a shrink to mediate pagano and grigson should have told him he blew it by Keeping them last year!!

I must admit that I am looking forward to Dakich's show tomorrow. I about shit my pants after laughing so hard at a Twitter post of his talking about all the rings he has including 1 MAC championship. Hey Dickich, I believe in your 10 years, you had 5 teams that were under 500 (156-140) and made 2 NIT appearances. Ray McCallum in his 7 years at BSU was 126-76, 2 NIT appearances and a NCAA appearance yet McCallum sucks. He is going to be hanging up on a lot of callers tomorrow. Should be fun. |

Oh yeah, Dakich has made a living on bashing the Indy media for saying there was a rift between pagano and grigson, that things were dysfunctional, and that grigson was a problem. He's defended Grigson all along and said if you haven't been in a lockerroom like he (dakich) has then you just don't know and you're an idiot.
Then he ripped mcafee for being a punter celebrating Grigsons removal. Bad move Danny. Mcafee is perhaps the most popular colt. Dakich was still defending his position on Grigson and "local media" even as it was coming out that Irsay was admitting issues.
Dakich has also many times accused ray of breaking rules at Iu and looking the other way on stuff. He hates Ray. A lot.

Every time I have called in, his lap dog producer Kyle won't put me through. i called in when Dickich was going off on Sampson and McCallum. When I called in to the show to point out that Ray was never punished by the NCAA, as Sampson and the other assistant coaches were punished, ole Kyle brushed me aside and would not put me through. Dickich got his feelings hurt when the players demanded that Ray coach them the rest of the way after Sampson was let go. Unfortunately for Ray, the AD went with Dickich. |
