Challenging an obvious catch in the first half.
Going for 2 in the third quarter (even though it worked).
Calling timeout with 1:15 left, the clock running and the Colts in the red zone.
The more I watch this guy, the more I'm convinced he just doesn't understand basic football concepts. Another wasted season upcoming.

The time out was the absolute dumbest move. Completely unneeded at that time and ended up leading to enough time left for Detroit.

Colts hope left town when Chuck came back and Bruce got his HC offer.

Going ahead with 37 seconds left and giving up 7 points with less than 37 seconds is one of the worst displays of defense I can recall

Well, they gave up 3 not 7, but the point is the same.
Pagano getting plenty of heat nationally for that brain dead timeout. If you HAVE to take the timeout, at least let the clock run down before taking it! You're moving the ball well, you have the momentum, and you know your defense has no chance of stopping the Lions. Don't give em a chance to beat you!!!

If you need this much turnover in your staff, your staff wasn't the problem.

Irsay has made some bad moves over the last few years. Retaining both Grigson and Pagano, yeesh. The Colts roster is a shambles and that's all on Grigson.

The more I watch this guy, the more I'm convinced he just doesn't understand basic football concepts. This seems unlikely to be true, he is a long time pro coach at many levels. But I am not arguing about whether it looks that way. I am glad I wasn't watching his debacle.

Pagano has memorized all the most common football clichés and conventional wisdoms and can always find one to use in any situation. He has zero original thinking, analytical skills or creativity. It's the same with Grigson. If you have ever heard Grigson interviewed, he sounds like a slightly-smarter-than-average player. Irsay is very comfortable with this because he was never very bright to start with, and has further addled his brain with extensive drug use.
Contrast this to Polian. Polian was intelligent and confident enough to think for himself. And, yes, he was also quite arrogant. I'm sure he made Irsay feel like the complete idiot that he is. This humiliation made Irsay dead set on winning in a different and "better" way than Polian did - and this is how you get things like the Trent Richardson trade, and this is why he hired very limited people like Pagano and Grigson. Pagano is well-qualified to be a defensive backs coach and Grigson to be a scout. But they are in completely over their heads in their current positions. I can just imagine the utter inanity of the Irsay/Pagano/Grigson meeting at the end of last year.

Any meeting with Irsay in it may mean a good deal of insanity.

Please....let us NOT forget the fake punt slash trick play from last October. That HAS to be the cherry on Chuck's coaching sundae.

Yes, when I said Pagano was not creative, I forgot about that incredible fake punt play. I imagine that even Bill Belichick was completely stunned and stupefied when he saw that one.

Never a good sign when you're outcoached by Jim Caldwell. Along with the inexcusable T.O., not squib kicking it cost a few seconds. With the seventh oldest roster in the league, even weighting Lucks age a little more heavily given the importance of QBs in a pass heavy NFL, and the Grogson/Pagano duo extended thru 2019, it just feels a bit bleak at least for the next 2 seasons.
